I'm seventeen, and sexually active. My periods are normal, and always have been. I have clotted before, but my mother said it was normal, and nothing was ever bigger than a quarter really. I'm not trying to get pregnant, but yes me and my boyfriend so have unprotected sex, and he does release in me. I would not be upset if I was to get pregnant, but I am not trying. I have had my periods regularly the whole time we have seen each other up untill this month. I started around the time I should give or take a few days, and I had a normal heavy period for about 4 days. Recently, about a week after, I started spotting. I asked my sister if she ever restarted a period and she said yes, sometimes all of the egg does not come out, and having sex right after your period can cause it to restart. I wasn't worried untill last night I put in a tampon around 11:30, and went to sleep at 12. My periods are usually very light during the night so I set an alarm for 3 so I could change my tampon. Around 1:30 I woke up and felt like I had peed the bed. I got up and ran to the bathroom, and as soon as I set down a very, very large blood clot came out without me having to push or pull on my tampon. I was not able to see just how large exactly the clot was because the water became immediately red, but I caught a glimpse, and I want to say it was the size a baseball. The first time my period started I was taking a shower at my boyfriends, and I started feel dizzy and lightheaded. I stepped out just in case I might vomit, grabbed a towel and tried to fan the steam out of the room. My vision darkened and everything my boyfriend was saying to me sounded far away and then i passed out. Does it sound like a possibly could have had a miscarriage? Please get back to me.

Some women don't get BFP's on home pregnancy tests until they are further along in the pregnancy, so if you were only 4 or 5 weeks you may not have had enough of the hormone to trigger the HPT.

With the amount of blood you really should at the very least call your dr's office and explain what happened and they can decide if you need to see the dr.  Also, try to convince your mom not to go in with you so you feel better about telling the dr everything.

i really dont know but u should definatly see a doctor, mabey u wernt pregnant because your right, if you were a test would of said so because the hgc hormone would still be in your body.it could be that your body is just having a good clean out down there!is there no way you could speak to your mum about it?i wouldnt panick, its probably nothing serios, but u do need to see a doctor, especially with all the blood loss, that could cause other problems.

i took a pregnancy test today, because on a miscarriage site it said if you dont know if you were pregnant take a test and it will stay same pregnant if you were because the hormones wont change that quickly if you take it the same day, but it said negative. I don't want to tell my mom, but i talked to my nanny. Not about the sex or miscarriage part, but about the clot she said wait and see if anything changes. Ive went through a 18 pack of super tampons in 4 days. FOUR! What the hell is wrong with me
