Tell you DH there are lots of good things in the MV for TTC - like selenium and zinc. It's a good practice anyway and it certainly won't hurt!
Best of luck with the specialist. Will it be an RE or high risk dr? I really would think one of the first things they'll ask for is a s/a, if not at least you know to ask for it. All 3 of my dr's (RE, OB/GYN and GP) keep badgering me about DH.
We are going to specialist here soon... But I want to get all our ducks in a row before we get there..
i made my husband take mens one a day..he thought i was crazy for making him take them...but hey every little bit helps right?!
This is what I found on morphology:
"Morphology refers to the size and shape of the sperm. The results of a sperm morphology exam indicate the percentage of sperm that appear normal when semen is viewed under a microscope. Abnormal sperm morphology may be a contributing factor in infertility.
Normal sperm have an oval head with a long tail. Abnormal sperm may have head or tail defects — such as a large or misshapen head or a crooked or double tail. These defects may impair the ability of the sperm to reach and fertilize the egg."
sakers - if you are really concerned you can always get your DH to do a semen analysis (s/a). I've been trying to get mine to get his done forever now, but since he's not I told him I had no choice but to treat him like there is a problem and that is why I just keep giving him more vitamins :)
Umm not to sound retarded... what is morphology?
I am going to start my DH on some vitamins too... along with myself i am hoping this will help the little swimmers and my eggs to reunite and become a healthy baby. And then hopfully I can carry full term or at least 8 months and i would be happy.
1000mg of Vitamin C! It's fantastic for the swimmers. Currently my DH takes his Men's One-A-Day, the Vitamin C, 800mg of Folic Acid and this month I just started him on 500mg of L-Carnitine (good for morphology).
Also, you can try googling FertilAid and Fertility Blend - specific blended formulas. But they are expensive and you have to take a bunch throughout the day (didn't think I could get DH to do that).
Poor man hates taking pills and I just keep giving him more.
I started a post a few months ago about vitamin supplementation. I'll go find it and bump it for your reading pleasure :)
