Did I Miscarry?

According to my lmp I am about 5 weeks pregnant.
This would be my second child. My first is now 6yrs old, and that pregnancy went perfect.
I started bleeding (like a light period) and have been bleeding for a week and 4 days.
My doctor has taken 2 hcg blood tests thus far the first was 330 and the next one was 598...
But when they did a vaginal and regular ultrasound there was nothing..I just had another set of blood tests done yesterday, and will have another done on Wednesday...so i'll see if the numbers went up...meanwhile i'm still bleeding, but have had no clots, cramping, or back pain...should i hold out hope or is there nothing to hope for?

Oh, I am so sorry for your loss. I know how you feel and no words can make the hurt go away. If you need to talk or vent, just let me know. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I guess I did miscarry.
My hcg levels went from 598 to 52.
This really hurts more than I thought it would...

I got these numbers from *****************.org. I don't know much about levels, so I hope this helps. Also, the same website says that "A transvaginal ultrasound should be able to show at least a gestations sac once the hCG levels have reached between 1.000-2,000mlU/ml."

Another thing I found on the site is that is says :

"Caution must be used in making too much of hCG numbers. A normal pregnancy may have low hCG levels and result in a perfectly healthy baby. The results from an ultrasound after 5-6 weeks gestations are much more accurate than using hCG numbers."

   * 3 weeks LMP 5 - 50mlU/ml
    * 4 weeeks LMP 5 - 426 mlU/ml
    * 5 weeks LMP 18 - 7.340 mlU/ml
    * 6 weeks LMP 1,088 - 56,500 mlU/ml
    * 7 - 8 weeks LMP 7,650 - 229,000 mlU.ml
    * 9 - 12 weeks LMP 25,700 - 288,000 mlU/ml

If you want to take a look, The website is http://www.*****************.org/duringpregnancy/hcglevels.html

If you level is 598 in your fifth week, it seems inside the 'norm'. Hope this helps.

I go to the doctor on Thursday, to get the results from these last 2 hcg tests.
Do those numbers seem really low?

It's a little early to see anything on a u/s at 5w, usually it's closer to 7w. Since your numbers are going up I would say stay positive and keep your spirits up. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers. Keep us posted.
