Dropped HCG level during pregnancy - told Miscarriage

Just want some feedback.  My HCG levels were in the 500's and I was told that I was anywhere from 4 - 5 weeks pregnant.  I followed doctors orders and went back in 48 hours for another blood work.  My results came back yesterday and my levels are now in the 200's.  I was told on the phone, by the nurse, that my body had miscarried.  I had my last blood drawn on Friday and here we are on Tuesday and still no symptoms of a miscarriage.  Can my HCG levels rise?  If it's a miscarriage why no cramping or bleeding?  I guess I was just accepting the pregnancy and now being told I miscarried.  What has been your stories with lowering HCG levels?  Did they all lead to miscarriage?  Did some still remain pregnant?

I did some research on a missed miscarriage and it sounds like it was one.  I thank God for my loved ones, though it was difficult to initially bare I'm much better now.

You might have had a missed miscarriage, You have no symptoms whats so ever. I had basically the same thing... I was 5-6 weeks pregnant... my levels were 486 and 2 days later dropped to 200 and the night I found out the levels, Is the day I started to miscarry. I'm sorry to hear about that. I know how hard it is.

Thanks for your comment.  I called my doctor and was told that because I was so early in the pregnancy and my HCG levels where so low to begin with I may not even bleed until it's time for my period.  With the support of my partner and loved ones, I know I will be okay in due time.

So sorry to hear about your bad news. I would say right shortly you will probably start bleeding. If your levels are dropping then that's not a good sign. I was 5 weeks and realized something was wrong when I went to take a test again and it was negative. I thought it was faulty but started bleeding the next day.
