First af only last for 3 days. Is it normal?

Hi all,

I found that my baby has stopped growing at week 9 when it should be measuring week 10. I had d&c on 21 May and my first af came in 1st of July. It has been induced by dr because based on u/s he saw that I am not going to have my af soon and he wanted me to have one soon so I can be on the way to ttc and also to flush out a bit of blood clot still left inside my uterus. He gaved me pills to consume for 10 days. After the 10 days, I have to wait another 5 days and my first af finally came. I have to have my blood tested as dr. suspected I have PCOS and will need to test my hormones level. I should be able to know the results by end of this week.

Anyway, my first af arrived 1st July and only lasted for 3 days. It was heavy and crampy. Came to the third day, i was only spotting. So I am wondering is this normal? Has this happened to anyone b4? I know our bodies will be out of whack after m/c but there are still many questions in my mind. Does this counts as the first cycle? Will I ovulate? I am now back to having cm, and my bbt is lower than usual starting 3 days ago.

Thank you for answering my questions. And I apologize if I have too many questions.

Grace.

Hi AP,

Thank you for your encouragement. Yesterday the results of my blood test is out and it shows everything is normal. I was so relieved. I guess the m/c is just bad luck (I hope). And I asked him whether this consider my first cycle and he said it is. So I guess I should just be more patient waiting for my second cycle. I did not try an opk because I was just thinking I couldn't be ovulating so soon after my period? Or maybe I did. But as of now, I do not have anymore cm to indicate I am ovulating. Perhaps the next cycle I will use opk. Do you know when is the most appropriate time to use an opk? As in which day after period?

I'm so sorry for your loss. Yes our bodies can be quite wacky and it can take a few cycles maybe longer to get back on track. Well my dr told me to count the day you begin your mc as the 1st day of your cycle. It is hard to know if your cycle is back to a 100% . Did you try a opk to see what the results are? I would treat this as a cycle so go on the idea that you may get your period again in or around 4 wks but you could experience some bleeding in between. There truly is no way of knowing what is going exactly, I wish I could be more help. The waiting is the worst. Good luck and best wishes to you!
