HELP!!!Missed Miscarriage

Hello, I am currently going through a missed miscarriage. I was given misoprostol. This started Sunday Jan 5th (I took 2 pills orally) . I was bleeding for a couple of days and then Wednesday morning it seems as if I had stopped bleeding and then Thursday morning I put 2 in vaginally and that night the bleeding started back really strong with alot of clots and tissue.Friday, big dark red clumps came out but I still kept feeling this nagging pain in my lower abdomen and my leg. Last night I was on the toilet and something started to come out, it was very painful, well this whole thing has been excruciating. I was sitting on the toilet for about 4 hours and it, which now i think is my baby, has not expelled yet.I tried pushing but I also have hemorrhoids from a previous pregnancy and sitting and pushing for that long made them worst. About 20 min later, I felt as if it was finally coming out so I made my way to the bathroom and when I sat down, nothing was there and it was hanging out alot before. I guess it went back up into my body. My follow up is Monday but I really didn't want to have a D&C..I like being able to be at home with my family to grieve in private. Should I try using more misoprostol or do you think my baby will come out on its own?

Thank you all for your support and advice. I didn't even mention that this is my 2nd miscarriage within a year. My 1st one was in July 2013, it happened a couple of months after I had my IUD removed because it was misplaced and I was experiencing severe pain and spotting..I was only 8weeks. This time I was 12 weeks but everything seemed fine except that my last doctor's visit, my baby's heat beat was not as fast as it should have been, but she told me to stay optimistic, which I always am. My baby actually came out this morning about 3am, the nagging pain I was having in my side and leg are gone but I'm still having cramps.I didn't take any pain pills all week, I guess I just wanted to suffer through it all. I don't think I will try to conceive again. I already have 3 beautiful angels (2 boys and 1 girl). I wanted another girl. Thank you all again. Good luck and God Bless

I prefer the natural way because of the scarring that d&c would leave. As for your body passing things naturally, yes it would come out eventually. I was 16 and 17 weeks when I lost mines and yes I was in severe pain for weeks. Even after passing naturally, both times being in the hospital I was still passing clots after holding and seeing my baby.  You might have already passed the baby but the clots that passes through your uterus is what's causing the pain. Yes It can take up to weeks for all the clots to pass and hcg to decrease to less than 5. You can always get an hcg to know if its going in the right direction. I didn't like the thought that after d&c it can be harder to concieve, which is why I preferred the natural way. Get some good pain pills and make sure you have an hcg done, cause most places don't monitor hcg levels to make sure it's going down. Good luck and sorry for your loss.

So sorry you are going through this.  I had d&c last Wed on 1/8 (I was 8w6d).  I was in severe labor pain yesterday all day and ended up passing two large pieces of tissues along with some small strings of tissues.  Now the cramping gets much better.  Tissue passing is very painful.  Even D&C may or may not help getting all of the tissue out, but eventually your body will expel what do not belong there...  It is even harder to be dealing with this right after the new year started.  I wish you speedy recover and our baby angels peace in heaven...

I just had a dnc this past aug. I was in and out within an hour, and then I was back home with my family. It ***** and it kills to go through all that but the DNC might be a better option. You're taking a risk by trying to let things pass as they are. It is not as horrible as you may think. My thoughts are with yiu and your family,  this isn't an easy thing to deal with.
