Having d&c tomorrow with no Anaesthesia

I was measuring at 6 weeks pregnant and spotting for a week now.  My baby's heartrate was low and the baby was not growing.  I passed the baby sometime in the week that I was spotting.  Went for an ultrasound and showed an empty sac.  I am scheduled for a d&c tomorrow.  I have opted for NO Anaesthesia, pain meds (only Ibuprofen) and no valum pill.  Has anyone had a d&c or d&e without pain meds?  Sounds and knowing whats going on doesn't bother me.  I know the procedure only lasts like 10 minutes.  I would rather walk out the hospital in my right mind.

Hi there is am truly sorry you lost the baby , be strong hun , When I had a D& C i was put asleep unless they are just going to give you the tablets that make you pass the rest as with them you will just get labour like pains but lighter pains rather than the actual D& C as they would usually have you asleep for that ??

Thinking of you today xxxx

I had a D&E on May 11th and I only had motrin as a medication.  I had a m/c three weeks before that but still had tissue that would not pass on its own so my D&E only took 10 minutes as well.
During the procedure they use a numbing substance on your cervix called lidocaine ( spelling).
I am a big baby with pain.  You will have  brief moments of cramping during the procedure, but it happens very fast and recovery is quick.  I walked out after it was over though I had mt DH because it is emotional, so try to bring someone with you.
I am very sorry you lost your baby.

I had my D&C in Dec.  I was 18wks and 3 days, I had medication so I don't know about the pain level.  I will tell you that after my procedure when I woke up I was groggy for a few minutes but after that I was mostly just tired and hungry.  I walked out of the hospital and was told to just take it easy.
