baby aspirin

I am considering taking baby aspiring now. I am not yet pregnant, but I want to be in the future.  I had a  m/c  in April at 17 weeks, it was so hard for me, I never thought it would happen to me, I felt like a bad person because I could not do anything to protect my baby. They still don’t know the cause, I have a fibroid but they don’t think that was the cause. I have seen several doctors now and they don’t recommend taking the fibroid out, so I'm ready to try again. I want to do everything I can for next time to go all the way if God wills it. So I have been taking my prenatal vitamins everyday for almost 3 months now and now I want to start on the baby aspirin. I am still on birth control but I plan to stop in a week or two. Anyhow, does anyone have any ideas or experiences with baby aspirin?
Hopeful K.

this is some of what I have heard and my doctor said it was ok to take:
Aspirin acts as a blood thinner, and thinned blood is less likely to clot. Higher doses of aspirin (such as the tablets that you might take when you have a headache) can cause complications in pregnancy, but researchers have been experimenting with lower dose aspirin/baby aspirin to see whether it might be beneficial to prevent miscarriages.
Low-dose aspirin is thought to be safe even in pregnancy, so some doctors will recommend that women with recurrent miscarriages should try taking low-dose aspirin with the idea that it “can’t hurt, and might help.” Even though aspirin is available over the counter, be sure to try using baby aspirin in pregnancy only with a doctor’s approval. Aspirin can interact with other medications and also might be dangerous for people with specific bleeding disorders.

No problem!!!!!! Most doctors say that any dose of aspirin in pregnancy is not safe., but my doctor actually says that it will do more good than bad. I take the chewable Bayer baby aspirin, and only once a day with a full cup of water.

Hi All,

I posted the same question on the Pregnancy 35+ forum - here's the link :  ( page 3)

http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Pregnancy-35/baby-aspirin/show/1031547

I've been taking low dose adult aspirin 81mg - one/ day with food.  I'll be making an appointment for a follow up for blood tests I took this week and will ask my doctor what he thinks.  Everyone recommends that you consult your OB - don't follow any advice just because you read it on Med Help.    Good luck and baby dust to you all !

I just wanted to say that I started taking baby aspirin about 3 weeks ago and I have been fine.  I recently found out that I was pregnant and I asked my doctor if I should continue the aspirin and she told me to continue it. Hope this helps!!!
