How long until HCG gone?

Just a curious question...I've had four miscarriages but I have not been monitored as much as this last one (aug 17th.)  But those that have been monitored how long did it take for your hcg to be back at 0.  I know that doctors say when you get your cycle or it varies from person to person.  I have been every week since the 17th to get my blood tested and it was 1900+ on the 13th of aug 1200+ on the 16th of august and 300 on the 19th of august the 26th it was 31.  They wanted me to test until I got down to 0 but I don't see the point in going to get tested again...I keep getting bad bruises.  Should I just take a pg test to get a negative (since I have 2 extras) or should I really go down there and get my blood taken again? I couldn't go last week b/c I was on vacation.

I hate those weekly sticks too.  I got my results on the 13th and they were back at 0.  So I would have guessed that it was a 0 3-4 weeks after miscarriage.  I missed a week that I was suppose to go due to being at the beach.  The bleeding only lasted me about 10 days from start of miscarriage to finish.  However, I had been spotting about 4 to 5 days before the miscarriage.

It took mine forever. My mc was October 10th, last year. My hcg levels did not reach 0 till December. My bleeding lasted for 6 fringgin weeks. I had to change docs cause my original doc wouldn't do anything and her only option to get my hormones right was to put me on the pill. 2nd doc did an us in December that still showed a small amount of retained product. She said I should have had a d&c. At that point it was so small, she hated to do it but did 2nd us in January - a scope and saline kind. Finally all was clear. Because I had prolonged bleeding, I developed an infection and had to take antibiotics. I think I had the mc from hell. And I wonder if it damaged something and the reason we can't get pregnant again - a year later.

Sorry your going through it. I hated getting those weekly sticks.

I have noticed that, like pregnancy and people, it's different for everyone!

I have also noticed that people who m/c naturally seem to take a lot longer for their hormone levels to go down than people who've had a D&C.

I had a D&C @ 12 weeks gestation. I bled for 5 days. My levels were back to zero 10 days post m/c. My AF came 5 weeks post m/c, 3 days ago. (but it's only spotting so possibly implantation)

I had my levels checked today after my third exam to see if anything was left in my uterus after my natural miscarriage on 8/7. It's the first time I've had my blood checked  as my doctor just wants to make sure there is no tissue remaining. I think if there is no tissue remaining, by four weeks you should be at 0 for sure. Can't wait to get my results.. never thought I'd be so excited to start my period! :)

Its okay Penelope I completely understand how the days run together.  I miscarried on the 17th and I stopped bleeding on the 27th.  I know they say that your hcg is normally at 0 when you stop bleeding.  I went friday for a recheck.  I was suppose to go during the week of 8/30-9/3 but I was at the beach and couldn't go.  I should know my results today...I'm just ready for it to be done and over with.

ok i lied...it was the 27th that i miscarried not the 25th, sorry, had my dates mixed up. So, on the 27th when i miscarried, my hcg levels were at 2500 and on the 9th, my hcg levels were at 2. so it took 12 days or less for my levels to go back to normal.

Sorry for u lost... I know exactly how u feel I jad to go every other day then once a week. It took three wks for my levels to go down. I didn't want to go back cuz I received my AF  but the nurse convinced me to go and i did. And it was my last time. The bruises and pain don't help any I know... I was kind of resentful seeing one of the lab techs being preg, and other females coming in that were preg.

I have to go in today..I think.  I'm trying to see if I can sneak out of here.  The other thing is that I requested my doctor records be sent to me or to be gotten for me to pick up (my old doctors left town) and the last STILL hasn't called me to let me know they are ready...the new doctors NEED these records...but noooo they want to take their sweet time...instead of worring about peoples health.  I think if I call today and they don't have them then I'm going to be very mad.  It's been two weeks since I signed the release and they said they go there once a week.  I've talked to that lady a couple of times and she's not sick or on vacation.

Thanks ladies for answering.  I talked to the nurse at the office when when she came and picked up her child.  She questioned me as to why I had not been in and I told her I just didn't want to get stuck.  I have to go in or they will automatically order a d&c to be done.

I'm so sorry for your losses.  I'm not sure a hpt will show such low levels of hormone, I'm not sure what the lowest amount is that shows on them.  I would have that one last test just to confirm that the levels have dropped because if they don't or haven't it could be indicative of their being products still being in your uterus which will need monitoring.

Sorry for your losses. I had a miscarriage on July 8, first pregnancy, first miscarriage. I had 5 blood tests over the course of a little over 4 weeks. My follow-up dr appoinment was on Aug 3. My level was 6, dr told me I didn't need any more blood work, and two weeks later I got my first af.
