No Bleed after misscarriage??

I recently had my second miscarriage on 6th Jan 2010. Its completly different to my first misscarriage though, I have had no bleeding or cramps just a few spots of dark brown discharge, which lasted for about 2 days, not even enough to wear anything other then a pantyliner. My doctor did bloods and that is how i found out i had misscarried as the results were low hormone found. it has been 3 weeks now since the spots and i have had no cramps, period or heavy bleeding. Im unsure as to when my next perioed would be due as my last one was nov 13th 09, making me 7 and half weeks when i misscarried. My last misscarriage I spotted then the bleeding got heavier and it lasted about 2 weeks, with bad cramps and lots of clots.. I was told to wait for period untill we started to try again but we couldnt wait and ended up having unprotected sex, quite a few times since then. What im worried about is if it hasnt come away am i at risk of infection? or what if ive fallen pregnant again and the old sac hasnt come away properly?? or could there be something else wrong?? Please help, very confused, scared and concernd.. any advice would be much appreciated xx

Hi there, thanks for your great advice. I have since visited my doctor again and he has now booked me in for an ultrasound this tuesday (2nd feb) to see what is going on. He said that from the ultrsound results the doctor at the hospital will run through my options, wait for nature to take its cause which could be up to another month, to take a pill (the same as abortion pill ive been told) or to have a d&c. She also told me that it is very unlikely that there is still anything there, she took my bloods again and there is still hormone in my system. Which is making me think that the sac is still there. This happend to my friend but she let nature take its cause and 6 weeks after everything came away in the form of a huge clot!! she described it as like giving birth. I dont think i will be able to do this so will prob opt for the tablet or d&c but not sure which is best. I just want it all over with so i can start again. What would you suggest is the least painful both physicaly and emotionaly?? x

I would advise that you have an ultrasound.  I have just had a missed miscarriage and all i lost was brown blood with the odd spot of red, no cramps etc.  It sounds like you need a D&C in order to remove everything otherwise you could end up with an infection.

I had my D&C on Nov 30th, got AF on Dec 30th and tonight just got a BFP!  I was told to wait one normal cycle, which I have already had.

Im kind of in the same boat. Only i passed my sac at home. It was Awful The was was inside the sac and could be seen plain as day. I was 8 weeks it was jan 9th when i had my 2nd miscarriage. My first i had to have a d&c because i was 11 weeks when the baby lost its heartbeat. But them time was very different. No d&c but i did spend the night in the hospital and Blead Heavily for like 7 days after. Its now been three weeks and I actually feel pregnant. My husband and i have had Unprotected sex quiet abit sence then and im really scared to test because i dont think i can handel anymore dissapointment. Your are not alone anyone who ccan help i have a question on here as well.

I just had a D&C on 1/6 after being about 6 weeks.  I am now waiting for AF so I can start my 2nd IVF.  Actually, I am told I have to wait 2 cycles.  How long did it take you guys to get AF???

It sounds to me like you haven't lost the sac yet.  From what I've heard, you won't ovulate until you've lost everything and your levels go to zero, otherwise your body still thinks your pregnant.

You haven't really miscarried until you've actually lost the sac.  Did your dr tell you anything a bout your options of having it naturally, a pill to help it along, or a D&C?

From what you explained it's exactly what happened to me.  at 11 weeks I had a little brown discharge, not enough for a pad or anything.  I was growing, the dr at the visit the week before said I felt just on target.  At my exam from bleeding, my cervix was still closed, and there was no sign (other than the very small brown spots) that I was miscarrying.  I had an ultrasound and it showed the baby was 6 1/2 weeks.  at 11 1/2 weeks i couldn't take it anymore and had the D&C.

Did your dr do an ultrasound to see how big the baby is?  Insist on an ultrasound to see what's going on.

Also I forgot to add that I have continued to have sore boobs which appear to still be growing a little, the sickness and weeing a lot seemed to ease off for about a week but has since come back, just not as strong as before, tiredness etc all signs of early pregnancy are still there, have come back x
