Miscarriage at 5 weeks

I've known for a little over a week that I was pregnant. right at 5 weeks I started bleeding heavily. I was so sure at the time that I had miscarried. However, I only bled for a little over 2 days. Is this normal? I haven't had a chance to see a doctor yet because of my work schedule. I have passed clots which i presume to be tissue from the forming placenta and embryo. Has anyone else experienced this?!?!?!

I have had spotting, massive bleeds and clotting the entire first tri of this pregnancy and now at 18 weeks. I wouldn't assume you miscarried.  See the doctor as soon as you can.  There are several reasons bleeding can occur in pregnancy.  Best of luck to you!
