If it was an incomplete miscarriage, your levels will not go to 0. And usually the bleeding will worsen again. Miscarriage is not always overly painful, it can depend on how far along you were and a host of other factors.
It's good your seeing your Dr. tomorrow. There isn't much more you can do except for a follow up. Make sure you talk to him/her about your concerns with the continued clotting. Just remember, if the bleeding/clotting gets really heavy in the meantime, seek emergency treatment. After a miscarriage is complete, usually the bleeding slows fairly quickly, although you may have light bleeding and/or spotting for several days.
Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I'm going to see my Dr. tomorrow. Hcg levels dropped from 40,000 to 7000 by the time complete miscarraige was diagnosed. ER Dr. said it will drop down further and will go to zero. My only concern is if there is any tissue left behind as I didn't not have much pain durin this process. Just relying on U/S. I'm still bleeding and clotting but not a lot. How long will I bleed ? BLeeding process started Aug 22 with light brown discharge and than turned red Aug 26 with clots and then heavy bleeding with big clots on sept 1 and sept 2 itt slowed down but still red with clots. They are saying its a complete miscarriage but no pain... still bleeding is it possible?
Bleeding after a loss is very normal. If it is really heavy - a pad an hour, then this would be abnormal and you need to seek emergency treatment. This is rare and u/s are pretty accurate. Chances are you will see a slight decline in the bleeding over the next few days and it should stop completely within about a week. If it continues beyond that, this is another sign of a possible incomplete loss, and you should follow up with your Dr.
Has your Dr. scheduled a follow up? Or at the very least, bloodwork? Most Dr.s will order bloodwork every few days or so until your hcg levels return to 0.
All the best to you, I am so sorry for your loss.
