No period after miscarriage

I had a natural miscarriage at 11 weeks because of a blighted ovum.  I am 10 weeks past my miscarriage with no signs of my period returning.  I have had cramping on and off, some thicker discharge at times that was clear, no odour and now I am spotting after intercourse.  My doctor says to wait at least another month, but this is depressing me.  Is this normal?

Thanks in advance.

I actually had a miscarriage in sept 2013 and they believed I had passed everything so I didn't need a DNC. They said to give it a couple months for my body to get back in the swing of things. Well January 2014 rolled around and still no period so I called my doc, she was very concerned and rushed me in. They checked out all my insides and everything was clean and good. I actually had to be put on a pill for ten days to get my period. They thought my body still thought it was pregnant so I wasn't ovulating. Feb and april I had a regular period and they said everything was good. I hope this helps

no need to do ultrasound.  some people takes 3-4 months to get their period back.  My doctor monitor my hcg levels until it drop below 5.   this mean all tissues are gone.  If your levels are clear then you can ask for med to induce your period.

I know the feeling. I'm 36. I just think it's weird he didn't do an ultrasound.

I don't think I am pregnant.  My doctor did blood work only, no ultrasound.  He wants to wait at least another month before he orders an ultrasound.  I want to ttc again soon as I am in my late thirties and months seem like waiting an eternity.

Are you sure you didn't conceive again after the miscarriage? You may be pregnant again. Did you Dr do a vaginal ultrasound or blood work?
