Madeline,age 8,passed away just a few days ago. We've been asked to pass this
on.  Doctors told her family        
that there have been quite a few children Madeline's age that have died
recently the same way that she did The only
common link between them was that they were given Motrin (ibuprofen) and
Robitussin together, this caused a heart attack.                      
They believe this is what happened to them. They told her to alert everyone
to this. Do not give children both of these medicines                        
together. You can give them one or the other but not both. When Maadeline
collapsed she suffered a heart attack and they were able to revive her but
the loss of oxygen damaged her brain and she was put on the respirator.
After this she had four strokes before she died after being taken off the
respirator. Please pass this
on.

OMG. That is so awful and sad. I use both and I'm such a nervous nelly I never ever mix medicines unless told by my pediatrician. My heart just breaks for this family. Thanks for the info Steph....

I'm one of those people who call the pharmacist anytime I have to give them something together. I don't know that they wouldn't have told me this was okay. I couldn't imagine the way her parents are feeling right now. It's just so scary.

thanx steph I never used meds together..unless i call the pharmacy first but normally i only give her Tylenol I felt so sad when i was ready that the little girl died from a heart attack It i so scary to even think someonthing like that could happen
