could i have miscarried a twin

i found out i was pregnant 3 weeks ago. i started 2 bleed last monday it was normal spotting that increased to pink now red with some clotting.  i went into the hospital a couple of days ago 2 be checked out (before the clotting started) n he told me that there was sum bleeding mostly old and i could just be spotting. they checked that baby and saw  what they could see for the moment bc im still very early that the baby was fine the heart beat was good and the fetus measured 5 wks n 6 days. 2 days later im clotting i follow up with my doctor and they tell me i might be miscarrying bc of my bleeding and the size of the baby doesn't make sense 2 them. im suppose 2 be 8 or 9 weeks. so far they checked my blood level and it came up as 180 they want 2 check again n see if it gets higher. is it possible that i would have twins and already lost one (twins run on my mothers side) and that they are off on my dates. i think think of why my babys heart would b at a good rate and beating and then 2 days later im bleeding. right now it looks like i had my period for 5-6 days.

yes they are drawing blood again the 15th they are now looking for my level 2 increase then depending on that ill have another sono a couple of days after. i feel fine with no pain or anything but yet again i havent felt pregnant still i dont feel like anything but thanx u 4 responding 2 me =)

I'm not sure. Bleeding or having period like symptoms are common early in pg. I'm not a dr but I would think your hcg levels would be alot higher if it were twins. When are you due to go back for a u/s? Are you having your blood re-drawn? How are you feeling now? I would try to take it easy for now and stay well hydrated. Just to let you know I always have bleeding early in pg and low hcg levels. I actually had bleeding with this pg at 12 wks for 6 wks everyday. Unfortunately it's quite common. I hope you feel better soon. Keep me posted and let me know what happens...

sry i cant find an edit. i also forgot 2 add that since i tested positive twice at home and in the hospital i have never felt any signs of being pregnant only bing tired nothing else my chest isn't even sore
