Hi There,
First of all sorry to hear about your loss, I too had a miscarriage early Nov 2010 when i had mt HCG checked it was 597 it took over 7 weeks to reach 2 (anything under 5 is classed as negative) and bled for about 81/2 weeks, When i spoke to the early pregnancy nurse she said that you will not ovulate untill your levels reach 0- if we think about this when your levels are 5+ your classed as pregnant and your body still thinks you are thefore you have no need to ovulate.
It is quiet possible that you could have some remaining tissue as it was only a month ago you miscarried, really your doc should have done regular scans and HCG checks every week to see if its declining apropriatley.
I would call your doc and arrange an appointment to dicuss your situation and see if he/she will arange a scan and HCG test.
Good luck my thoughts are with you.
Yes you can ovulate for as long as you are not pregnant. Even if your hcg levels are above zero. It is possible you may be pregnant or it is just the hormones in your blood. But to assist you further, if you are pregnant, the home pregnancy kit will read two equally strong lines. If its the hormones, the positive line will be a faint one (nb: the degree if faintness varies). But best way to find out whether you are indeed pregnant, simply go for a scan by your gynae or doctor. All the best!
It is so hard to say for certain, but I would suspect your HCG levels have not yet gone down to zero. It can take several weeks, and usually Dr.'s monitor it until it does get back to zero. You cannot ovulate until that happens. It is not uncommon to get a false positive on an OPK after a loss. HCG can cause an OPK to register positive..not always, but it is not uncommon.
It is possible you have some leftover product, but it is also possible your hormone levels have just not yet reached zero. I would see your Dr. for a bloodtest, or possibly two a few days apart. That will give you more information. Good luck to you, and I am so sorry for your loss.
Hey,
First of all, i am very sorry for your loss. :(
Here is what usually has happened - some tissue was missed during your D&C or natural miscarriage. Maybe A bit of placenta clung to the wall of the uterus and It continued to draw a little blood, and the body continued to create very small amounts of pregnancy hormone, for that reason ur test shows a positive result, or still your body's attempts to regulate its hormones again, and ur HCG are still not zero.
Some women find they have mild pregnancy symptoms, or little cramps. Many many women think they could be pregnant, because strange things are happening and their period is "late".
I also had a natural Miscarriage from November 2010, and it is been 60 days with no period, but some bleeding with clots from time to time. My doc gave me Duphaston to cure amenorrhea ,as I didn't have menses and my doctor gave hormones so that I get withdrawal bleeding with it. I should get my next bleeding after 1 month if my cycles become regular.
having noticed some blood and some tissues passes from time to time may raise some suspicion of having some remnants of the miscarriage inside my uterus. My doc said to me that i should gave my uterus some time to heal and be cleaned.
I don't think that it is possible, i wish it can be.
I was exactly in same situation, i was pretty sure and 100% that i am pregnant again, i have all symptoms, test was positive, but it was a false alarm. :(
Once again i am sorry for your loss. Keep me Updated dear, but in case it was a false alarm, don't be depressed and don't be sad.
Take care
