Recurrent Miscarriage

I first became pregnant in Nov.2006 I was experiencing a lot of pain. I had done a pregnancy test and it came back negative and I was a couple of days late for my period. I went to the hospital and they said that I was pregnant, because this was my 1st pregnancy I was not sure what to expect but they indicated there should not be any pain. The doctors at this point thought because of the pain it may be an ectopic pregnancy but it was still too early to tell and nothing appeared on any ultrasounds. I had heard that if you experience alot of pain during pregnancy that it is an abnormal pregnancy and because of this and the pain we decided to terminate the pregnancy. I was given a shot of methotrexate and passed everything naturally. In Nov.2007 I became pregnant again I knew that I was even though I had not missed a period, the pains were back and it was identical pain to the last time. I began getting my HCG levels monitored and they were not doubling properly. Again I was in excruciating pain and in Dec. 2007 I had a miscarriage. I again just started getting the same pains  and we have been trying desperatley to get pregnant. My last period started on July 30, 2008 I immediatley began having my HCG levels monitored and they were not rising as they should have been they were going up but not necessarily doubling. According to my last period when I should have been around 8 weeks pregnant I had an ultrasound and there was a heart beat however due to the size of the fetus they stated that it would only have been 6 weeks and 3 days along. I was scheduled for an ultrasound for 2 weeks down the road that would have been Oct.7/2008, however Oct.3/2008 I had another miscarriage. With each pregnancy I have pain immediatley and it has stayed for the duration until it ends in miscarriage. My ultrasounds are not showing anything abnormal but I am absolutley desperate for answers. If anyone has had a similar experience or lnows something, anything that would help please let me know I am 31 and feel like I am running out of time.

the wait is the toughest part.  or you might even get in to see the specialist, they run all these tests and nothing is wrong.  that is what happened to me.  i was told i just had 2 MC's back to back with no reasoning behind it.

good luck.  stay positive and let us know what happens.

My doctor has already referred me to a Specialist. I am just waiting to get in sometimes the wait can be just as bad as anything else. It's the not knowing that is driving me crazy. I am still having a lot of abdominal pain and am trying to decide if I should go to the hospital today or not. I really appreciate your response and I wish you all the best.

sorry for your losses.  now that you have had 3, you really should go see a reproductive specialists.  most insurances will pay for it after 2 or 3 losses.  they will run many tests to see if it is something simple as to why you are not carrying full term.  have your doctor refer you to one ASAP.  I had 2 MC's and then saw a reproductive specialist and within 3 months i was pregnant and here i am 20 weeks later still pregnant with a baby boy.

so it does help.  try to get the referral soon.
