Should I be getting my HCG tested?

I had a miscarriage 2 weeks ago and a DNC. My doctor said it was safe to start trying to concieve after the 2 week pelvic rest. She didn't mention anything about checking my hormone levels to see when the drop down to 0. I have read alot of patients saying their dr's checked their levels before trying to concieve agian. Also is it safe for my uterus to get pregnant 2 weeks after this procedure? Im emotionally ready to start agian as I had a blighted ovum so I never got to hear a heartbeat or anything. I was 12 weeks along.
Thanks for your help.

I would personally wait for one cycle to make it easier for your sanity to date the next preg. I did not have to have my levels tested after my D&C. I waited one cycle and got preg on first month trying. I was thankful I waited though as I was able to look online and find out what my aprox due date was. Good luck to you :)

I had a D&C the end of June & got a positive test in a few days ago. I had my period in both June & July, but it wasn't like my normal cycle,  it was mainly spotting, so I took a test in Sept & it was positive. Thank you!

How long after your DNC did you have a positive pregnancy test? And did you have a menstrual period before your positive test?
BTW, congratulations and wish you two the best.

As long as the doc tells you it is ok to start trying again & you & your partner feel emotionally ready then go for it. You are very fertile at this time. Yeah a lot of docs check HCG levels because so many women think they are pregnant after a miscarriage but it is really their hormones going back to normal. My doc did not check my hormone levels at all after my miscarriage. My fiance & I started trying again a week after I had my D&C & have had no problems. I took a test yesterday & it was positive. Good luck to you & keep us updated!!!
