BFN ... Well obviously!

Ok, so thought you guys might appreciate this story.

I'm am now 2 weeks 2 days from the stop of bleeding after m/c.  I don't know if any one remembers, but i've been so sick with a cough.  I finally convinced my doc (general) to see me and sure enough... bronchitis.  Well he put me on Leviquin.  He asked me if I could be pregnant and I told him about the miscarriage.   I also told him I hadn't been particularly careful since.   He said if I thought I could be pregnant I should test, although he agreed it hadn't been long and wasn't likely.  Well, what more encouragement does a poas addict need then that?  So...  With only 8 days since the earliest possible pregnancy producing BD (I might add that this was the night before I got the hcg of 10 blood test).  I decided to test.  BFN.  Of course I looked at it like 100 different times twisting and turning it until I thought, "Is that a possibility of a line?".  It was most likely the line that is always there and can be seen if you look hard enough.  Either that or my active imagination.  Well, I had bought a 2 pack so of course I had to poas again this morning.  Another BFN (not even my imagination could find a hint of a line this time).  I am not upset ... I knew it would be negative, and hopefully I can feel safe taking the meds I desperately need. Just thought you guys could appreciate the story. (I did not tell dh I poas ... he would have thought me completely crazy!)

How long did it take you to get AF?  Is it similar to what you used to have?

I told my sister that the $ store should give me free tests for life for getting so many ladies addicted to them...LOL Ever since my m/c until this AF I had brownish spotting for an entire week before every AF...So maybe you'll be getting AF soon, hopefully!

O.K so I went to the $ store and bought three tests. I have done one of them and it was BFN. This morning when I awoke I had some red bleeding with stringy brown stuff ( sorry if this is gross to anyone). It has lasted all day and I am wondering if this is AF? I have had intermitent brown spotting over the last week and a half, but nothing like this. I hope it is AF, but do you think it is remnants of the m/c?
I try to talk to DH about this but he just tells me to wait and see, but patience is not a virtue of mine, so I need someone elses opinion....like all you ladies :)
The other two tests will be kept in my cupboard for later on when I will need to piac for better reasons.
Thanks for listening :)

Popcorn - yes if you a BFN, that you can be reassured your levels went down (at least below what the test is testing at).  But if you don't give AF in a timely manner (2-3 weeks) I would suggest you call your dr.

mrs_p4508 - that's funny !! Too cute :)

I understand how you feel about testing...I think I could have brought stock in tests once we started ttc.  And I had them everywhere....in both bathrooms at my house AND in a locked file cabinet in my office!  Now who's crazy??

Yeah, if you have a neg. result your hcg levels have dropped. It might take a while to get back down to 0 though. I had a neg. result a few days after my BFP but it took 14 weeks to get AF again. If you are concerned TELL you dr. to do bloodwork to monitor your hcg levels. Hope you are doing well :)

So just to confirm.........if I poas at this point (2 weeks after mc) it would tell me if my hcg levels have dropped? My Dr hasn't sent me for blood work, I did call them but haven't heard back.

LOL - you guys are too funny!  Pips, I would have POAS for sure (oh wait I did - 2 weeks after m/c).  At least you are keeping in good spirits about it.

I used to use the digital tests, but now I use the ones with lines, just so I CAN twist and turn it!!  DH thought I was crazy when I brought 5 HPT's home before I even O'd.  He just couldn't understand why I was so excited they were only a dollar - perhaps because he has no clue of my POAS addiction.  I was doing laundry the other day and found a pack of tests I had hidden, just waiting to throw them away when he wouldn't see :)  I'm just lucky the dog doesn't sniff them out and bring them to DH - LOL

you're so funny twisting and turning it... I've gone as far as taking the thing apart to figure out why it wasn't giving me a BFP... and of course the more normal behavior of looking at it in different light and from different angles.  If you look hard enough, there is sometimes a phantom line there-- or we both do have really good imaginations.  It's marketing genius to sell them in 2-packs... who wouldn't use the second one!
