Ok. So here’s what I know and somethings just don’t make any sense. I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar and what was the outcome.
My last missed period was 11/15/18 putting my due day at Aug 22, 2019
Jan 3- First doctor’s appointment. Baby was measuring 7 weeks 1 day on transvaginal ultrasound. Ultrasound tech could not hear the heartbeat yet but could see it and said it was 109. I don’t know levels but doctor said HCG levels looked perfect.
^Loved the office and doctor but the practice was not accepting any more pregnancies. So I had to go to a different doctor/office. First appointment at new office Jan 14th
Jan 14- New doctor measures baby on ultrasound and says it’s measuring 8 weeks 4 days but she doesn’t see a heartbeat. HCG levels 88,700
Jan 16- I come back in for an ultrasound with the technician at the new doctors office to see if she can find a heartbeat. She says she can not find heartbeat either but that baby is measuring 7 weeks 5 days. HCG levels 72,800
Ok, so here’s the problem. I don’t understand how the doctor measured baby at 8 weeks 4 days and then the ultrasound tech measured baby at 7 weeks 5 days. That’s a huge discrepancy when we are talking embryo. Also, if the ultrasound tech was correct and baby was 7 weeks 5 days on the 16th of January then that means I lost the baby Jan 7th. Wouldn’t my levels be much lower than 88,000 on the 14th a whole week later? At first I thought when I seen my hcg levels drop it was for sure a miscarriage. But then I read that hcg peaks around 8-12 weeks and then goes down. I have three children and my morning sickness was usually over by week 9. So I’m thinking my hcg goes down around week 8-9 normally.
Doctor wants to schedule D and C. I’m waiting to see what my body does. I still get nauseous every few hours if I don’t eat. I feel pregnant. I have not had an cramps, back pain, or bleeding. I had three miscarriages very early in pregnancy 5-6 weeks before having my three children. This does not feel like a miscarriage.
