Hey I had that happen to me too. I bled kinda heavy for the first day and then 2 days post D&C, I was only lightly spotting. The next day, no more blood. But then 5 days post D&C, I begun heavy bleeding. Today it's been 2 weeks, 3 days since the procedure and it seems like I completely stop bleeding and then it starts again outta no where. I still have brown discharge and occasional red. It's different for everyone.
It's very common to bleed on and off for about 2 weeks. I bleed/spotted for 24 hours post D&C then a about a week later I bleed for 6 days. They never once checked my levels. Counting the first time I bleed during the 6 days, that was the beginning of a normal cycle for me. I had a longer cycle after that, however that was from stress.
If the cramping gets bad, or your bleeding longer than the 2 weeks I'd call the dr's office and ask to talk to the nurse and see if you need to see the dr.
If I remember correctly, the same thing happened to me. I bled lightly, stopped, then bled lightly again for another few days. That was six months ago, and I have been getting regular periods since.
Helen- I myself never had a D&C, but I have heard of this happening. If your still bleeding on Wednesday I would talk to your Dr., I'm sure it's just the normal process of a D&C but better to always be safe. Much luck to you and let me know how everything goes at your appointment. Lori
Hi, they don't bother checking for hcg levels over here, not even a check-up following the D&C. My appointment on Weds is only because I have a great Dr who wants to check how I'm holding up emotionally. I shall keep an eye on things. Really sorry for your loss also :(
Well i had my miscarriage jan 5th & i remember bleeding (spotting) for a week & then i was done. but everyone is different. they say u can bleed up to 2 weeks & mild cramps for 2 weeks also. The symptoms for infection are foul smelling discharge, high fever. so i wouldnt think u have an infection. but you could have left over tissue or something that could give you an infection. is your doc keeping track of your hcg level to make sure its decreasing?? Hope that helps you a little & sorry about your loss
