complete miscarriage with no symptoms?

I have a strange pregnancy going on, and I am looking for any input. By my LMP I should be almost 8 weeks.  I had a m/c in April so the Dr had hcg levels checked starting 9/25 they were at 427.  9/27 they were 575, 9/30, 861 and 10/02 1284.  Had u/s 9/29 that showed nothing.  Dr was concerned ectopic because of low levels 6 weeks LMP.  Had abother u/s 10/3 that showed 4-5 week gestational sac in uterus.  Dr says it looks like I ovulated late around 9/20 and that my hcg levels and u/s match each other for 4-5 week pregnancy.  I have had cycles as long as 40 since m/c but most were normal 31 days.  I would agree that I ovulated late except i already had +hpt on 9/11.  It sounds really bizarre to me but anyone have any ideas about the possibility of another m/c with no symptoms or bleeding with a new pregnancy immediately following? The Dr is convinced about late ovulation and I haven't had any new hcg levels drawn and she said come in 3 weeks for another u/s, scheduled for 10/23.  It's a weird situation and since the m/c I have all sorts of fears.

So, I had to chnage the u/s appointment and now instead of the 23rd I have to wait until the 28th.  My daughter has her first field trip for pre-school and I have to bring her to the pumpkin patch.  Another 5 days is crazy!  I haven't had any bleeding, just really mild cramping on rare occasions.  I'm at least pretty convinced it's nothing ectopic because I think by now something would've happened and I would be having some pain.  I thought about another hpt.  I did 4 of them at the beginning each a few days apart to make sure it still showed because with the m/c a week later it was negative the day the bleeding started.  Maybe I'll try the dollar store test because with the m/c and the first day of my missed period with this one  never showed +. Something to do tomorrow!

My dr. only did my levels this time at the first appt...The day I started to cramp I called and the nurse said that all of my bloodwork looked fine. I didn't think to ask about the levels...Later that day is when I lost my angel...Have you thought about doing another HPT? Obviously the faster it shows up the more hormones you have...I know ladies that have done the same test a couple of days apart just to make sure that their hormones were going up. I wish your dr. would at least do more bloodwork between now and then to give you some kind of idea...

thanks for the thoughts.  steph, did your Dr check your levels?  I know it's possibly a blighted ovum or something like that with me but I was under the impression with that my levels would still be about right for 7 weeks. My Dr had been concerned about the levels not rising and being so low but when the u/s showed nothing, and then 4 weeks development she wasn't worried anymore, she said they were rising more than 50% in a little under 48 hours so they would be rising more than the low end of viablility which is >60% in 48-72 hours.  I don't know how it went with my daughter because I never had any problems.  It's just crazy waiting 3 more weeks for an u/s when I know that by this week if everything is ok there would be more development.  I'm not patient and if all is not going to be well I'd like it to be over already so I can move on for next month.

it could be late ovulation or not a healthy pregnancy.  your levels are not doubling like they should, did the doctor mention that.  although some women's do not double every time.

i would wait a week and go abck for another ultrasound.  my 6 1/2 to 7 weeks, you should see a fetal pole with a heart beat.

i had the same thing with my second pregnacy, my levels rose slowly, then i had an empty sac that never grew and i had to have a d and c, but this might not be your case.  wait it out for another US and let us know how it goes.

I wish I had better news for you...The same thing happened to me twice...The first time I ended up with a healthy pregnancy and must have ovulated late.  The second time back in June I became pregnant and went in for my first visit where they did the u/s and showed that I was 5w3d instead of 8w3d...I asked how that could be since I had a BFP 2 weeks before??? But I didn't think too much of it since something similar had happened before.  Well 8 days later I lost my peanut to a missed m/c...The pathology report showed that my baby stopped growing around 5 weeks.  So it turns out that I was as far along as I thought that my baby had died weeks earlier.  The one thing that strikes me about yours is that you had one u/s where they saw nothing and then the next there was a baby???????? So the baby has gotten bigger...I hope everything works out good for you. I will say a prayer for you.  Let us know what happens.

Hi there my m/c I was 5 1/2 weeks and same thing the tech didn't see the baby in the u/s but my ob said he was not concerned. He told me hcg levels need to be up around 2000 to really get a good view. He said not to fear also ovulation could be a factor. If you are nervous ask your ob to draw your blood sooner than later. There can be lots of reasons as to why things are the way they are. Some women have crazy and scary pgs and have normal healthy babies. If your dr isn't concerned than you shouldn't be however don't ignore your fears. I would suggest to you not to stress you pass that on to your baby and too much can bring on m/c. Just relax and make that app. IF for whatever reason your dr's office doesn't make one go to the er and tell them you don't feel good or something and they can run your blood and you can find out in an hour or so. I hope I helped you alittle bit. The one thing that tells me you maybe okay is your levels are going up and by alot. Mine only went up 30 numbers and then stopped as soon as the baby died and then once I started losing it the numbers were gone so hang in there and good luck. Let me know what happens.
