I so agree with what Bam said.  If you look hard enough you can find somthing that may mistakenly lead you to believe there is a problem.  An example is spotting.  Many women spot during first trimester....the majority of those will still have healthy pregnancies, but it can also be a sign of impending miscarriage.  The best thing to do is not worry about it.  Your bloodwork and ultrasounds will tell you if everything is ok.  Sadly, there is very little that can be done to prevent first trimester miscarriage.  It is usually due to a chromosonal defect and can't usually be prevented.  It took me a long time to accept that.  Usually its just plain bad luck.  Also, if it does happen, its rarely because of anything you did or didn't do.  Even drug addicts and alcoholics can often carry full term babies.  The babies aren't born healthy of course, but they don't necessarily miscarry.  The good news is, it only happens in about 15% of pregnancies, so your odds are very good.  Unless something very obvious happens, like extreme cramping accompanied by bleeding, try not to worry.  Relax and enjoy!!  Congrats on your pregnancy, and I wish you a happy healthy uneventful one!!

Is there anything that is happening that would make you concerned about m/c.  I think that all women have that fear, especially early on in pregnancy.  It's natural.  If you spend too much time in this forum, you will probably make yourself nuts and stress is not good for you now.  I have only been pg once and it ended in m/c at 9 weeks (just last month).  I had an irregular ultra sound, so I knew the chances were 50/50.  At my 2nd ultra sound we knew for sure that it was going to happen.  I started spotting brown, but it soon turned to red and then it happened.  I don't know what to tell you about helping to prevent it, other then just try to stay healthy and relax.

Good luck!!
