first period after m/c

What is the first period like after miscarriage?  Is it business as usual or is it a lot worse?

I'm sorry for your loss.  I had a D&C last year and I bled for a long time but come to find out it's b/c of a blood clotting disorder I have which is probably what has caused all of my miscarriages.  Anyway, I bled after my D&C for like 7 weeks.  I stopped bleeding for about a week and then had a period.  It was pretty light since I had been bleeding for so long and there was only a short time between them.  The next period I had wasn't "on time" by my standards.  I'm a 28 day cycle gal and my period came like 40 days later and it was pretty normal as far as cramps go.  After that, though, it was all business as usual.  I hope this helps.

Mine have always been normal after the 7 m/c's that I have gone through.  No excessive bleeding but sometimes will have cramps which I normally don't and will have more clotting.   My dr always recommended not using tampons for the first few periods after a m/c.  I hate pads.
