I went back to the Dr. today and my Hcg was 317. Whats happening here? They gave me another appt for Monday to have another Hcg. The nurse told me that my numbers were still low and she's never known it to turn out to be a viable pregnancy in this case. I've read several cases like mine that turned out successful. This is killing me. Somebody help me find some answers.

I went in the ER on Xmas day, Saturday for bleeding....it wasnt as heavy as the m/c I had before but it was a lil bleeding. Pregnancy test was positive Hcg was 219, U/S showed nothing. Went back to my Dr. on Wednsday Hcg had dropped to 209......that wasnt a huge drop....I was told I am miscarrying. Could I still have a successful pregnancy??? Has anyone experienced this ever???

Pregnancy test usually test for HCG levels of 25UI/ML.  If you were 30, the other day and your levels are still "dropping" you should technically be negative after a couple days if there is still some tissue in your system they may drop slower than if you system has been cleared out (if you system was cleared out, you would have tested negative after 48 hours at least)...  Its a tough call but doctors make mistakes ^

Best of Luck!

This is my experience with my 2 m/c's.  I had no pain with either.  I had all my pregnancy symptoms and still tested positive until the hcg was almost gone from my system.  It can remain for a while after the loss.  With my last m/c, I tested positive for a bit over 2 weeks after.  It really is confusing because the symptoms and positives don't necessarily mean the pregnnacy is viable. I think at this point all you can do is wait and see and pray that everything is okay. That seems to be the way it is in early pregnancy. There was someone on here a few weeks ago who had been told her levels were dropping and then she found out the lab had made a mistake.  I think there is always hope.    I wish you the best and do hope that everything turns out to be okay.

the annoying thing is with pregnancy you spend the first 12 weeks waiting and waiting and when you think you have everything you want, you wait some more! if you have all your symptoms, its a good sign. i also had a little blood that turned into spotting and stopped completely in about 2 hours, this was a few days ago at 6 weeks but i passed a clot. i had a transvaginal ultrasound and i still have my sac but its too small to see inside of it. i feel so sick and unwell today, i have all my symptoms but listen to your body. since you are still testing positive, it means you have high enough levels to still be pregnant. it just sounds like your blood is fooling you around a bit. if it was a miscarriage it should just be like a normal period, so i was told anyway. Good luck with your blood results! if you stil have your symptoms and the doc says you have lost baby, wait it out if you believe you are still pregnant. they seem to misdiagnose frequently. Best of luck and let me know how you get on. its awful having to go through this and you don't know what to do or who to turn to. xox
