Could i be miscarrying

My husband and i have been trying to have our third baby.  Took a pregnancy test in may and it came out positive. Four days after taking the test i started to have a little bleeding like a period.  I really didnt think much of it because i know some when do have their period when they are pregnant but it lasted two weeks.  I am still bleeding a little but mostly just spotting.  My hcg levels have been going up the way they should but i had an ultrasound yesterday. The doctors are telling me that i am about 6 weeks pregnant, well the ultrasound showed three empy sacs.  I have another ultrasound appt. this coming wednesday.  They said i could have miscarried or the babies could be too small to see yet. I am wondering if anyone has had this happen and still be pregnant.  I am so upset my husband and i are really hopeful and would appreciate anyones input.

Well as its a multiple pregnancy, theres a possibility there could have been 4 egg sacs and just one has broken away. While your hgc levels are rising I don't think you have anything to worry about.

It could just be too early to see anything at 6 weeks and perhaps the Drs are erring on the side of caution because of your bleeding, they want you to be prepared just in case.  On weds they will be able to tell whether the sac has grown and whether there is anything inside it/them.  I shall keep my fingers crossed for you. xx
