2nd trimester miscarriages

Hi my friend has had 2 2nd trimester miscarriages. The doctor says that there is some complication with the uterine wall which makes very tiny red blood cells that go to the baby via the placenta so by the time the pregnancy is 22-24 weeks the placenta gives up and she has a miscarriage. Anybody heard abt this or know a solution to this?

Oops I forgot to add I have heard that at a certain point in the pg if there is risk of the cervix opening they can insert a stitch but i'm not sure of the details so I would have your friend talk to her dr! I wish her the best!

Yes. I lost my daughters twin at 14wks and had complications with my placenta shutting down with her and have to have an emergency induction. I had a d anc c at 19 wks same problem with my placnta and I had placenta previa with my son. It's not uncommon for this to happen. It's awful and guite scary. Only over the past few months have I been able to talk about my 19 wk loss.. Best wishes to you....
