I'm sorry that your going through such a scary experience, I know exactly how it feels. When I was 4 weeks pregnant I ended up going to the ER because I had really bad cramps and thought that I was going to lose the baby or worse thought that I had an ectopic pregnancy, they did an ultrasound and lab results and the ultrasound technician told me that it was too early to tell if I was going to have a miscarriage or not because he could not find the heartbeat so they said that I was also having a threatened miscarriage which was the worst feeling of all. We didn't tell any of our family members until we hit the 12th week due to the scare, but I had to go to my ob/gyn when I was 8 weeks pregnant to confirm my pregnancy an sure enough we saw the heartbeat. I personally think that it is just too early to detect the heartbeat at 4-5 weeks pregnant that's why they say that your at risk for a threatened miscarriage. I am now 29 weeks and 5 days pregnant with a healthy baby boy. I would just recommend that you keep thinking positive, I'm sure that everything will be just fine. Also I have no idea what my hormone levels were because they never told me in either the ER or the ob/gyn's.
