missed miscarriage

I was diagnosed with a missed miscarriage on October 2 , 2014  at 10 weeks 4 days and was told id miscarry with in a couple days to two weeks so far nothing has happened and its been a little over two weeks. Any advice would be helpful since my doctor said there is no need for a follow up appointment and his diagnosis final. Should i get a second opinion? I have no bleeding or cramping and still feel very much pregnant. Im 12 weeks 5 days now. really need some advice .

get a second opinion. I demanded an u/s before they induced me. seeing my baby lifeless still inside of me and no heartbeat killed me even more, but having a Dr just TELL me? I wouldn't believe it. Needed to see it with my own eyes.

P.S. with my 5wk miscarriage. From the moment they said my HcG levels were dropping, to me actually miscarrying at home - was about 4-5 weeks.
Your body is like mine, adamant on keeping the baby inside you. alive or not. :(
So sorry

I found out I was pregnant on June 14th - 5 wks.
Everything was progressing fine. 5wk u/s looked good, but sent us for another one at 8wks because I wasn't entirely sure when my last period was. (I had stopped taking my pill to have my period, started it again for a week then we decided to stop using it, therefore - ending in me spotting/having another period).
Dating of the 8wk u/s was fine. Another u/s at 14wks, baby moving around - everything looked perfect. No cramping, bleeding, etc.
16wk check up (Sept 5/14) she went to use the Doppler, all we heard was static. She asked me if I felt the baby move prior, and I had told her I actually hadn't felt him the previous day and that I expressed my concern to the Boyfriend and he said I was worrying. ANYWAYS, my heart was racing, and she left to get me a form to be seen immediately in the U/S dept. When she left I kept poking at my belly, telling the baby to move or kick, or something. And I remember going down the elevator. alone, as it was just supposed to be a routine check up. And reading the paper.... I started bawling... "Check for viability". Anyone who has had a miscarriage - regardless of what week you're in, knows that feeling I'm talking about.
The U/S tech said nothing the entire time. Sent me back to my Dr. and she comes in and smiles and says "did the tech tell you anything?" *my heart stops racing. she's smiling. This has to be good? right?!* I answer "no, she didn't", she replies "yeahh, there's not heartbeat anymore, I'm so sorry"

I drove home, in a daze, by myself. And went to my boyfriend and just cried. We talked about the options the Dr. gave me. D & C, naturally (waiting it out), or being induced and giving birth.
We opted to be induced so as to not wait around and start healing ASAP, both physically and emotionally.
Sept 12th 2:18am I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy we named Levi. He only measured about 14.5wks. And aside from fitting in the palms of my hands, he was absolutely perfect in every way.

I had opted to go through a natural miscarriage because sometimes doctors can be wrong. So sorry you had to go through that I have had two miscarriages before so i know where your coming from i just cant accept the fact that id be going through this again because I havent had any symtoms or anything. Thank you for sharing your story.

My dr refused to do labs to see if levels where rising or falling. I dont know what else to do other than let nature take its course

Talk about rude (your old doctor)!!! I agree with Jess56m... go to the E.R. They'll do an ultrasound & tell you what they see. Waiting must be torture! So sorry! Thanks for sharing your story... Please keep us posted. I bet your little miracle is alive & kicking in there. Doctors are only people & can definitely be wrong. If your new doctor finds the pregnancy normal, I would sue the first doctor for not following through & pressuring you to do a D&C.
May God watch over you & your tiny miracle!

Definitely go to the ER and just complain like the others said. Clearly your old doctor has no heart! I know drs have been wrong in the past but he's just being plain rude! Praying all is okay and I'm sure it is! Let us know how it all went :)

This is so bizzar. I cannot believe your doctor won't do blood work or give another ultrasound. This is crazy. Definitely listen to these women. If you go to the ER now and say you are cramping they will do all your blood word and give an ultrasound. Please tell us what they say. This is so weird. Your gaining weight and everything. And honestly....after you go and if you get positive news....I'd take the information directly to your doctor....show him the results....call him every name in the book....and report him to the board of medicine for malpractice. And I'd make sure he knew that I was doing it. Good luck hun....keep us updated please.

Yes Hey a second opinion. I strongly believe either way they would want a follow up.

My bf ex wife was told their 6 year old son was a miscarriage.  He's healthy and perfect and going to turn 7.

But that is to long for them to make you wait and for them not to run any further tests!??!!

It's inhumane to do this to you.  Go to ant Dr or hospital and beg. Go to your Dr Abe DEMAND ALL OF YOUR RECORDS IN HAND IMMEDIATELY!  They are YOUR records.

I had a missed miscarriage and I never passed it on my own. Only difference is my doctors did lots of blood work and tests to determine if it was a m/c. That's nuts that they wouldn't help you out. I went for a d&c after 6 weeks passed because I didn't want to suffer complications that would result in future infertility. You could always see if you can find someone with a fetal Doppler heart rate monitor. See if you can find a heart rate. If you were diagnosed at 5 weeks and it's been 6 more weeks you should be able to detect one. I bought mine on eBay for less than 40 dollars because I was paranoid about having another m/c with this pregnancy. It's a major helpful tool and worth the money.
