period after miscarriage

hi everybody. maybe somebody had the same experience and can help me to feel that its normal?
i had miscarriage on the 5th of July.I bleed a lot on that day and I got D & C done. I didnt bleed after that. only very light spotting for few days.
I still didnt get my period. I know that it can take a while but I dont even feel that it's coming any time soon., I allways have sore breast and another signs that i dont feel this time.
I know I am not very patient. Anyway I was reading some books about TTC and  I think i will try to measure my temperature. This sound a bit complicate for me. Do you think it really works?

I have had 3 miscarriages this year. One very recent, so I can't comment when my period will come back with this one. But, with the others I got a period about 5-6 weeks after all bleeding stopped.

It's so interesting that you just wrote in with this (susi1976).  I had a dnc 3 weeks ago and I still haven't gotten my period either.  I also had really light spotting for 3 days too.  I called my dr. today to ask if I could still ovulate from the time of the dnc until now.  He said yes.  Well, I thought you had to have a period to ovulate.  Apparently, I was wrong after a dnc.  My dr. says it can take anywhere from 4-6 weeks to get your period after dnc.  I don't feel like I am going to start anytime soon either.  It seems to always be a waiting game.  I hope this helps you.  Let me know if you want to pm each other about it.

I recently had a miscarriage on August 5th and I took misoprostol to give birth to my dead twins.  I didn't have a d&c.  I was 11 weeks along but they died around week 7 and 9ish...I tried to block that memory out.  Anyway, today is two weeks later and I insisted on my follow up they do blood work to track my HCG level, it was 217...lower than it was on July 2nd with my very first missed period blood work check (235 July 2, 523 july 4th).  Anyway, I read that the half life is 12 hours to metabolize so it should be back down to zero next week, then I would expect a period to come shortly thereafter.  My RE did ultrasound to make sure the tissue was gone, I am still bleeding however. But he said the lining was that of the time in my cycle when my period would end.  Anyway, I also bought cheap Home prego tests to see when it returns to a negative reading again. I take them once a week, well, it keeps me focused that another week is behind me anyway and I can start trying again.
