period like cramps post ovulation after D&C

It is about 8 dpo and I have bad period- like cramps. Normally that means I am pregnant, but could it also be due to the aftermath of a D&C in early July? To tell you the truth, I would kind of be relieved if I wasn't pregnant for one more month. That's why I'm asking the question. The D&C was after having two natural miscarriages in the months before. Has anyone ever had a D&C and then had a change in their ovulation pains or PMS symptoms? Could it just be that my body is more sensitive now? Actually, I have had a period since the D&C without these pains.

It took 14 weeks before I even got my first AF and then it was a long 45 days before my 2nd, 32 for my 3rd and then 16 for my 4th!  I thought they were never going to be regular again.  I get nausea and breast pain also, nearly every month now I'm wondering if I'm pregnant because the symptoms are so similar - it's very very frustrating!  I'm also really heavy the first two days and dare not be too far away from a toilet :(  I had no idea that a D&C could cause so many problems, I'd had one many years ago and it didn't give me any problems at all :/  I hope your cycle gets back into rhythm quickly for you. :D

Thanks for your input, Bernie! My cycle symptoms didn't change after my first two natural miscarriages, but after this one with the D&C, I am not back to anything normal for me at  two periods post miscarriage. My latest new thing is hurting breasts and bad cramps two days prior to my period (if it comes today). Although that has been a symptom of pregnancy in the past, not my period, I highly doubt I am pregnant because I took two tests that came back negative and they always come back positive by 12 days post O. Then again, my overall cycle this month was very different so who knows.

I had a D&C in Jan of this year and I now get different symptoms, bad cramping which starts a week before I'm due :-/  It took a while for my cycle to get back in sync but it is now the same as it was before the procedure and I'm back to a 24 day cycle.  My bleeding is different now though, I used to bleed for 7 days and now it's only 5 days and the main bleeding only lasts 2 days.  I also now get ovulation pain which I never experienced before and which only started last month.  Hmmm a miscarriage really does change things.

I am just going to ttc without stressing about it. I have read that if we are too stressed while ttc, it would be difficult to get pregnant. But somehow, it is hard not to think about, esp when I want a baby so much.

Let's keep our fingers crossed and we will get out bfp soon.

Good luck..

Thanks for this Grace! I am worried about the same things. Especially that I won't be able to get pregnant again as easily.

To keeping the faith and to relax WHEN we do get pregnant again...

I think having m/c can really cause a havoc in our body. My d&c was on 21 May 2010. Sometimes I still have cramps when I shouldn't be having them. I understand your worry. Last month I was having some preg signs and I was worry about being preg as I would like to wait one more month before ttc. It gives my body more time to heal.

But my third af just came and almost gone. And it seems my body has started to regulate itself and it will be less worrying if I get pregnant this cycle.

But I keep worrying about 2 things. 1) I will not be able to get pregnant as easily as before. 2) That I would miscarry again. I guess m/c can really take away the excitement of being pregnant. Anyway, I will try not to worry too  much and just relax.

Good luck to you.
