please help me!!!
hi im wondering if anyone can please help me...... i was not aware that i was pregnant... i was really excited, then she did a scan and she sed that there was a problem... apparently my womb has grown to 10 weeks and my baby is only 6 weeks so they said that there could be a problem, i then had a blood test done and my results for the hcg was 29405 and then two days later it dropped to 24300.... im really nnot sure whats going on... i really hope my baby is alive, is there i chance that my hcg levels can increase and my baby is fine....she wanted to refer me to a gynae bt i dont have medical aid and its to expensive... can someone please tell me whats going on and what should i do...
hi. well the brown blood doesnt mean that, because i used to have that too when i was preg. when i went to confirm though (i had a second opinion from another doc.) he did a count on my hcg levels and they had actually gone up! but not doubled as they say they should be. that day when he confirmed i started feeling sick and sure enough the next day in the morning i had a m/c.my recomendation for u is to just let nature run its course. i hope this has helped u in some way. best wishes to u and ill be praying so that everything turns out fine for u.

by the way...i used to also spot brownish.
so no i dont think u bled it out already. ull

i kinda went trough a similar thing as urs. except that i was 6/5 wks and they told me that day that the babys heart had stopped beating. the doc just gave me two choices that day..to have a d&c or to take a pill to enduce the miscairrage. since i wasnt bleeding or spotting or anything i just didnt do anything. i guess i was just at denial. so i just waited it out. i did go to see another doc. what he did was test my hcg blodd levels one day then againg the next day. my hcg did go up a bit...but its supposed to double every day. that being said. i went home that day and sure enough at night i started bleeding a bit and just mild cramps...by the next day i had just like a very light period but the cramps were just unbearable. i went to the hosp. but on the way i passed the fetus. i knew b/c i felt it. my doc said that the best thing that i did was wait. d&c are just recommended if ur too far along or if ur body cant pass it. well ur story does seem very similar to mine. but i do wish u the best of luck and hope this helped. i hope ur ending will be different from mine. my prayers will be with u.

I expect she wants you to wait a couple of days as the hcg levels double every couple of days so in order to get an accurate idea of whats happening it's better to wait at least 2 days since your last blood test.
There are many women on the site who have experienced missed miscarriages. I have read that the hcg levels become less accurate as the pregnancy progresses but I'm sorry I don't know what stage that happens. A blood test alone would not be a good enough diagnositc unless it showed a dramatic drop in your levels, another ultrasound would be needed to confirm one way or the other.
It may be worth posting another questions highlighting that you want to hear from women who were told their levels were low but who went on to have a healthy pregnancy, that way you will be hearing from both sides of the fence so to speak. You could try the TTC and Babydust Buddies (if you go on my profile and look at which groups I am a member of you will find the link).
It's a terrible and painful waiting game, your life just goes on hold and you can't think about anything else. My heart truly goes out to you.

Oh hun, please know that you can come on here for support. This is a really difficult thing to go through and I agree with you it's probably one of the hardest things for any woman.
You need to get to a Dr as soon as possible so as to prevent the risk of any infections. The emotional pain will take a while. Do you have the support of family?

I'm so sorry you are going through this. From what you've said it does sound as if you are experiencing a missed miscarriage. The fact that your uterus is showing 10 wks but the fetus only 6 weeks and the fact that your hcg levels are dropping and not rising are both indicative of a missed miscarriage.
You will need to see a gynae to discuss your options. They will do another hcg test and possibly another ultrasound just to confirm. If it shows that the pregnancy has stopped progressing you will be given 3 choices: To wait and let nature takes it course (natural miscarriage), To take a medication that will bring on a miscarriage or To have a D&C to remove all products of the pregnancy.
This is a very hard decision and a painful one for you emotionally. I don't know how the health care system works where you are but you need to find a medical centre that is able to treat you.
