possible miscarriage

i went to the dr on monday 1/24 hcg level was 931 he did vaginal u/s in his office no sac, repeated hcg on 1/27 hcg level was 1686  another u/s and hcg ordered for 1/31. u/s still showed no sac and hcg level dropped to 1300. The dr is calling it an abnormal pregnacy, no spotting, no cramping. still have the symptoms of pregnacy breast enlarged, nausea. should i get a second opinion?  I am scheduled for a d&C friday.

I also have gone thru this & believe it's a "blighted ovum"  it is a miscarriage.
I am sorry you are going thru this now but pray you find the strength to try again when you are ready.

If I may ask, how far along are you? A sac should be visible by 5 weeks and a heartbeat by 6-7 weeks. If there is nothing visible by u/s at this point you may move ahead with the D&C. Did your dr check for etopic? It is a bit stange since your hcg is too high for a chemical pregnancy. If your hcg were rising instead of dropping I would say go for the second opinion. Maybe try one more hcg test? Either way, I am sorry that you are going through this.

Good luck.
