Miscarriage and getting pregnant

Is it true that after having a miscarriage you get pregnant faster or it is easier? I heard it makes u more fertile somehow? It took my dh and I 18 months to get pregnant and we miscarried at 6 weeks.

I have also heard that you are more fertile after a m/c but I'm not sure why. Does anyone know for how long you are considered to be more fertile...like for several cycles after a m/c?

Hi BellaHope.  I know how you feel.  My DH and I TTC'd for 2 1/2 years before our very first BFP, then I m/c at 8 weeks.  I have heard that you are more fertile after a m/c, but some say that is just an old wives tale.  We waited till after I got AF to TTC again and now we are months 3 post m/c and still no BFP.

Considering how long you have tried, have you been to see a Reproductive Endocronoligist (RE)?  I had made an appt before our BFP.  My dr said that even though we did get pg, I should make another appt with an RE, to see if anything is wrong.

I'm sorry for your loss. My dr told me when I had my m/c in Sept that you are most fertile the 1st two weeks from the day the bleeding starts. I'm not sure if a m/c that involves a d and c is different. See alot of women after having a m/c their cycles are greatly affected or their bleeding lasts a long time. I'm very very lucky my cycle was unaffected. Have you always had trouble with your periods etc. My body has been like clock work since I was 11. How old are you? Have you had kids before? Were you on any bc before ttc. The best thing I can tell you is to take your vitamins and relax. Please try not to worry. It's all about frame of mind. You must keep positive thougths or it will feel like agony. I know I have been there. Filled to the brim with dispair and total regret and the not knowing drove me crazy. Im sorry for your loss.  I have also heard that you are more fertile after a miscarriage.  I got pregnant first try after my miscarriage, which was at 5 weeks (however I have never had trouble becoming pregnant).  But yes, I have heard the same and hope it is true for you!  The good thing is that you m/c early, like I did, and therefore your body has less healing to do.
