I woke up yesterday 4/28 slightly bleeding it continued for a couple of hours, by the time I went to my doctor which was first visit the bleeding had stopped. The doctor told me before u/s i was about 7 wks to my knowledge should only be about 6 wks. During u/s couldn't find fetal pole and wasn't told what my sac measured! I'm scared!!! Had blood drawn and again tomorrow to figure my levels... doctor told me to come back in two weeks for another u/s but more or less told me to be prepared to lose baby I'm not ready for that..... any inputs??

First off let me start by saying I am sorry you are going through this.  Nobody should have to worry like this.  How were your levels when you got them redrawn?  I know waiting is hard it's the worst esp if you think something is wrong with the baby.  I would say that at this point the difference of a week can make a huge difference at what you are seeing.  Try to relax but I know that is easier said then done.  By the next ultrasound you should be between 8-9 weeks so you should def. see your fetal pole and even hear a heart beat.  I would maybe also suggest calling your OB to see if they could tell you what your gestational sac measured.  I would.  There is no reason that cannot tell you that information.  I hope everything goes well for you.  Good luck.

Did the doctors tell you what your Beta hCG (the pregnancy hormone) numbers were from any of your previous blood tests?  Without those numbers it's hard to say why they are telling you that.  Also, I hadn't looked at your profile so I am not sure about your age, but many people are shocked to know that even in your 20's miscarriage rates are at 15-25%.  As we age, those numbers increase.  It is a horrible thing to have to think about, and even worse to go through.  Sometimes bleeding is quite normal in pregnancy - more so early on.  But, it should always be checked and monitored by your doctor.  My mother in law had what she believed were periods (heavy ones) throughout her entire pregnancy often joking that even in pregnancy she couldn't get rid of her cycle, but medically speaking knowledge now tells us, we do not have periods through pregnancy but we can experience vaginal bleeding that may make us think we are having what looks like a period.  This explains why many people don't know they are pregnant, or end up having the wrong dates, simply because they think they are having a normal menstrual cycle.  So, in a way, I am trying to say - there is hope and cause to believe things may be fine, BUT always err on the side of extreme caution and have ANY bleeding checked out by a doctor or hospital immediately.  It isn't worth losing a pregnancy if there was/is something that ultimately could have been done to help or avoid it.  Having said that sometimes, there isn't anything that you can do.  It is nature's way of ending a non-viable pregnancy.  (I know this sounds harsh, and you are mentally unprepared, but it is a reality.)   I just want you to be aware that sometimes, it happens for reasons that you can not avoid - and have nothing to do with anything you did.
In addition to anything I have mentioned, please keep in mind, that while I or others may have extensive knowledge in many areas, you should always seek professional medical advice from your own physician, as it pertains to medical conditions or concerns.

Wishing you the very best of luck (and if there is anything else I can help or add to this, please don't hesitate to message me directly).

Sincerely,
