A reply from the Editor - Neuro

this is the reply I received from the Editor of the Article from The Neurologist...I did not use any names or group names when I sent in my email to them regarding this article.  I wanted to let them know my concerns..

My name is Karl Durst and I am the publisher for The Neurologist. Your e-mail was forwarded to me from our customer service department.

I’m sorry that you and your group do not agree with the article authored by Dr. Rolak and Dr. Fleming, entitled “The Differential Diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis,” from our March 2007 issue. However, the article in question is directed to a medical audience, not a lay audience. I can assure you that the article was reviewed by a senior MS expert and was recommended for publication. Once an article is published it cannot be revised. If you or your colleagues wish to write a letter to the Editor expressing your thoughts, the Editor will consider the publication merits of the letter.

Okay, so it sounds like everyone wants me to write the rebuttal that I really do want to write.  It will take some energy and time, but maybe this Piece O'Sh*t article does need to have a Counterpoint to it.  It fosters one of the most dangerous of all attitudes, "If you don't know what the patient is suffering from, blame their symptoms on them and send them away, humiliated.  Then you never have to see them again and be reminded of what you don't know."

Y'all want me to write this?

Here's a good chuckle, with all due respect to anyone named Karl Durst.

I did a google search, and here is one of the sites:

"Karl Durst marks the seed bed lines. Karl has been a farmer all of his life. He manages Santa's Forest with pure West Virginia pride. "

I needed a good laugh today!

Was online looking at that pub company, Wolters Kluwer.  Would be interested to know if the Dr's themselves reviewed the final write-up prior to publishing.

In any event, this Karl, being a publisher, just intercepted and responded to your letter. And he's just the 1st layer  and he should be ashamed at his response

Maybe it should be written by the group, signed by Quix.  It seems we all have so much to say...

I've certainly written enough letters to doctors in my day.  AND editors, for that matter.

Condescending twit.  He's really getting everyone's dander fluffed, isn't he?
