Well, i have decided to continue with the PT because i do like him and my insurance pays 80%...and he will only see me once a week and sends me home with my exercises. It just felt right to me and i cancelled my epidural for now, he will try to help my headaches along with the dizziness.,
I realized that i want to do this without bad drugs if I can.
This is all so hard isn't it? I went to a good private DR., supposedly, and maybe i will all come together for me. I need to also tell my Dr that i have a swallowing problem, you know the one........asperation and when they first found it, it caused an infection in my lungs.. I had really forgot all about it until this week after another bout of choking and coughing..i have been doing that a lot and my chest hurts sometimes..
so first i will have that checked out...there is so much going on right now, i just want a vacation from myself..LOL
It is very HOT up here, it kicks my butt..
I need to finsh reading this, can;t take it all in right now I could type forever , all of a sudden I have too many questions and could talk forever too.
I need to sleep, didnt sleep much last night...

Meg,
I can empathize and sympathize with you!! More and more we don't get our money's worth in our medical inquiries. I'd leave that PT and find someone else - $400 for just talking and a broken videoplayer is way out of line!!
I remember spending a small fortune for my first sleep study at a hospital sleep lab which I later found out was just a sleep mill, (a real moneymaker), which evaluated over a dozen patients at a time and where the technicians were the ones grading the reports. No wonder the doctor who then told me I did not have sleep apnea was so clueless about my results - and so wrong!!
I later had another sleep study (after having a very scary episode at night where I woke up unable to start breathing again) in a small sleep lab (I was the only patient there that night). That time, the doctor graded the results and went over them carefully with me. What a difference between him and the hospital sleep lab "doctor"!! I do have sleep apnea and now I happily use my CPAP every time I nap or sleep for the night. I'm no longer afraid to sleep!! What a difference!!
So since you have "mild sleep apnea" did your MD recommend you get CPAP? Lots of people with "mild sleep apnea" do need it and use it.
Remember, people with sleep apnea should not take any sedatives, sleeping pills, or alcohol, etc. at bedtime - can make the apnea much worse!!

Meg,
I take it you are paying your own PT bills and not getting anything from insurance? I would talk to them about negotiated rates and see if you can get that amount lowered.
For my PT she bills the insurance $175. They pay her about $85. I pay my copay of $20. It is a discounted rate for everyone. Cash paying customers should always ask about getting the same negotiated rate if possible. Some providers will do that but others don't.
Hi, Meg,
Regarding the pain on inhaltion, now, did you go through a Pulmonary Function Test? I've given those tests - they're HARD WORK! If that's the case, you should feel better in a day or two. Quite the workout!
Hope you're staying cool up there - that area always seems so hot in the summer. Best stay in the lake...that's what I do!
It's so maddening when we go through all these tests and the results are inconclusive. Your sleep test basically says you don't sleep well. Well, duh! I know just how you feel.
I have never heard of PT at $400 a clip, or even $200. Hope your home exercizes work, but if not, there has to be someone out there whose charges are reasonable.
Hang in there,
ess
