Whether neurological or non-neurological, try them anyway - couldn't hurt. Tennis ball or golf ball works great.
I dunno how cold it is in your area, but I hear that a cold pack works for spasticity.
I use a frozen water bottle to roll my foot on when needed. My PT told me about that one.I keep my socks on though. I think she just liked the shape of the bottle, not so much the cold.

Thanks girls. I am rolling a tennis ball under my foot right now AAAHHHH!!!
Quix did your note say these cramps are not neurological, or did you mean the treatments are for nonneurological cramps???
Thanks again
D
Kathy is right.
Different things to try for recurring muscle cramps - not caused by neurologic problems:
Try a high-grade magnesium supplement
Quinine water.
warmth
frequent stretching out, even though a cramp is not occurring
my mind went blank for all the other things to try.

Have you tried rolling a ball under your foot? Maybe you can massage out the cramp that way. I have a nifty little ball I got from my physical therapist that has little firm bumps all over it; called a stress buster massage ball.
I get cramps in my right foot, too. Sometimes one of my toes pulls over under the toe next to it, its cramping so hard. I also get cramps in the sole of my foot, like where you would have pain if you had plantar fasciitis.
My neuro suggested I try taking Magnesium tablets. I also make sure my feet are warm; I have a drawer full of big fuzzy socks.
I wish you luck; I know how much those cramps hurt!
