Hi all...
Well, I popped back up in early May only to have a major tragedy in our family..... well major for us. We had to put down one of our horses, was one of the hardest decisions we've ever had to make and she was still young, only 13, so it was even more devastating to lose her so young. Was officially the worst mothers day ever in our home.
But, good things have happened too....
I am working part time... Neither primary nor neuro will release me for full time and tho I was getting pretty cocky earlier this year thinking that I could handle full time again, then the early heat wave hit and well... not so cocky anymore :) But, friends offered me a part time position working from home as much as I wanted or needed to help the get their Visiting Angels franchise office up and running. Has worked out well so far, only have to drive to the office when I schedule people for interviews.
We finally picked up another used car to replace my car that caught on fire back in April, so enjoy having the freedom of being able to come / go as I want.
Think I posted that I had the nerve conduction done (finally) and that all came back good... well define good... means all my left arm numb / tingling crap mean a lesion is sitting in just the right (or wrong) spot causing all the problems. My neuro agreed to let me try LDN on the condition that I did not stop my copaxone or any other options we are using (yoga, walking, supplements, diet).... but she wanted me to wait for my 6 month bloodwork... That all came back this month showing the copaxone is not causing any problems (still have the positive Sjogren B antibodies, but....)... so, got my prescription of LDN last week and took my first dose last night, so we shall see!
Still avoiding gluten and guess my system is so free / clear of gluten that when I have even a small amount, it now really affects me and even the stomach is more involved then before. Did a stupid oopsie the other week and had a can of soup that I swear I've had plenty of times before (i.e., I did not triple check the label)... yep, had wheat, knew it a couple hours later. I am avoiding lactose now too, but that has not been terrible to do... I love cheese, but my favorite cheeses are the hard type, so they are naturally lactose free or very low lactose due to how long they take to age (aging process actually removes the lactose naturally). So, only thing I am missing is 'real' ice cream and yogurt..... I even have a pretty dang good gluten and lactose free (or almost lactose free) mac and cheese I make up now!! Where there is a will, there is mac and cheese...
Had my MRI updates done last night.... what a treat that was... the vibration of the machine caused muscle spasms, did not see that one coming, but felt it.... was like a 90 year old lady shuffling up the hallway to leave :)
So anyway, babbling on!! Just wanted to say hi to everyone, hope everyone is doing well!! So post and share what you've got going on, how you're dealing with the heat and any random babblings :)
Hugs,
Jen
