Bilateral numbness in both legs and arms

For the past 2 weeks I have been noticing some weakness and numbness in basically all my limbs.  This all came on at once when I woke up.  There was no so called "traveling" of the numbness from one limb to the other.  I woke up in the morning feeling all my limbs fatigued/ and slightly numb.  Since that time the low level numbness/fatigue feeling has been in my hands and feet.  I feel that all my limbs "go to sleep" very easy now.  I also wake up every night with at least one of my hands(either left or right) numb and tingle the takes a bit to wake it up.  The constant numbness I feel in my hands and feet is a very subtle numbness but is always there since day 1.  I notice this gets worse when I sit in a chair or lay down.  While at a chair it’s my legs/feet that get progressively numb and when I lay down it’s my arms/hands.  I've been doing alot of research and it appears MS initially appears asymmetrical?  Plus it’s just not my legs OR feet, it’s all 4 that are affected and the sensation is equal, there is not one side that feels worse then the other.  Any thought as this is really freaking my out.

I am not sure really only a Neurologist can figure it out. MS usually is asymmetrical.

Hi there,

Thanks for joining us.

It's going to be important for you to go to your regular MD. Maybe it's circulation, or something going on, but only way to begin to find out is to get a thorough exam. I'd not jump into a neurologist because lots of things can cause what you describe.

Hope this helps and that you get feeling better soon!
