Sarahsmom46 had a relapse -Part 2

Hi All,

I just got off the phone with Julie. The leg pain is somewhat under control after trying several different medications. She is still in pain but much better in that department. Her neuro said that the pain was due to a rebound effect from the Solu-Medrol. But.....

Either the strep is back or she has thrush from the antibiotics. They are awaiting test results from that. And...

Julie's gallbladder is misbehaving again. She is waiting for them to arrange the gallbladder testing and they are considering removing it due to her symptoms. She is currently nauseated and is on an ice chip only diet until they decide what action to take.

All in all, she is in amazingly good spirits considering the amount of discomfort she is in. She asked me to post this information and she said she would call when things changed.

Good news is , Al called while I was talking to her so she gets the opportunity to talk and share with him.

Thank you both for letting us know how Julie is doing.  Poor thing, she just cant get a break.

Hope the antibiotics do the trick, and she will be on her way to feeling better. The quicker the better already.

Sarah, please tell your mom we are thinking of her and I am sending up a prayer and good thoughts,

Hugs,
Michelle

I had a lengthy chat with Julie last night - she is in very good spirits considering all she is going through.   But she was grumpy about being hungry - the steroids ramped up her appetite and she can't get enough, especially on that ice chip diet.

The leg pain is NOT from blood clot, so that is good.

The throat culture is POSITIVE for strep - more antibiotics !

They plan on keeping her in rehab for at least another week, which is sure better than sending her home on her own.

One of us will let you know over the weekend about that gallbladder - I hope that is the problem and can be taken out and solve some of Julie's problems.

Thanks, Ren, for this update. Poor Julie is really going through the wringer. Maybe it might be best to deal with the gallbladder question once and for all.

Sarah, if you read this, please let your mom know we all care very much and are hoping she feels better very soon. She and I have been planning a get-together, and I want to make that happen as soon as she's well.

Many hugs,
ess

This was written after Sarah posted at the end of the long original post as I thought it might get the proper attention it deserves. The original post describes Julie's leg pain.

Here is Sarah's update:

Hey all,

I have a pretty sad update. The doctors took my mom off of her Solu-medrol and since then, she's been feeling intense, crushing pain in her legs. They currently have her on Percocet to manage the pain, but I don't know much beyond this. That is all I know right now. I haven't been able to contact her and only learned this through my brother yesterday morning. I'll try to get some more info today.
