Thanks for the imput everyone! I called the nurse, and she said that if I have any feaver to give them a call. I am drinking copious amounts of water and the puddingis getting thinner.
Kathy,
I live about 1.5miles from the airport in Gulfport. You probably did fly overmy house! Did you enjoy the opressive heat? :-)
I am in the same or simiar situation as you right now. I was admitted to the hospital for a relapse last Friday and put on the 3 day IVSM and now on the 60-40-20-10 prednisone taper. I actually got a copy of my labs while in the "joint" and my white counts are very low and was cautioned about the infection risk ivral or otherwise.
For that reason, it would probably not be a bad idea to touch bases with you PCP so you don't end up with something else. Most times, however, our immune system steps up to the plate and keeps us out of big troubel, but still you have the kids to think about and need to be extra careful. So, at least call your doctor and see if they wouuld like you to come in.
Take care of yourself.
Julie
Call me a baby, but I'd go to the doctor with sputum in a jar (sterilized) if I were coughing up "pudding" - steroids or no steroids. Especially if there is any fever.
In the meantime, eat an orange and drink some tea with honey. :-)
Get better soon.
Hi there. I'm sorry you're feeling yucky.
I know that when I take steroids, from prednisone for a sinus infection to an injection, I am more likely to get a virus. It really seems to lower my resistance, more than other people.
It doesn't hurt to call your internist's office. Do they have an advice nurse?
I know that the planes I flew to and from Florida on had people on them that were coughing and blowing the whole way; I really think there are some viruses going around.
By the way, I did eat some gulf shrimp while I was in Clearwater Beach, and it was yummy. When we flew out, we detoured because of weather, and I think I may have flown over your home. I waved, anyway. :o)
Get better soon, OK?
Kathy
I have no experience with this, but I think the old rule applies.....
when in doubt, call.
I hope you feel better soon,
Lulu
