Did anyone start a weekly review:?

I'm not seeing our usual thread for what is up this week - so if I've overlooked it, sorry.

What is everyone doing this week for entertainment,. doctors' visits and life in general?

Me? I just came back from another urogyno appt - and yes, another UTI. I just can't catch a break with it for very long. Change of meds and treatment strategy to see if we can control the UTI and the urgency.

be well,
Lulu

Mon. -my daughter and I had a pamper day. She got her hair cut and colored for the first time.

Fri. -I have to take my daughter to Children's Hospital. She had some thyroid panels that came back bad plus her thyroid is enlarged. They brought us in on an emergency case..so I really don't like the sounds of that.

As far as me..my symptoms are the same..except I had some sort of weird pain in my lower right abdominal. My bladder became spastic too. It was so painful I was in tears. I'm not sure what that was about.. If it happens again, I guess I might go in

Yesterday, I went to our neighbor/friend's funeral. He died after only being DXd with brain cancer for 2 months.

Today is my grandma's b-day - she's 88 yrs old. Happy Birthday g-ma!

Working all week.

Fri - going to an Italian restaurant for lunch for a workshop by Shared Solutions and a local MS neuro.

Sat - going to watch a friend (who has REALLY long hair) shave her head for St. Baldrick's - fighting childhood cancer.

Sat Eve - going with my partner to a friend's house for games, food, & drinks (mine's always just an ice tea)

Returned home from Vancouver on Sunday, had a great visit with friends, looked after some family obligations, went to the symphony to as my dear friend did a vocal performance (Bach) with them, had some great meals.  The wreather was beautiful, sunny, warm and no rain.  Though I did learn that for every outing/get together I need to plan for at least an equivalent amount of rest.  On Saturday I didn't get up till 2pm, and it killed me not to be out doing some shopping but I just couldn't do it, felt like there was a massive weight pushing me down.  I also nhad some moments of severe vertifo and dizziness, fortunately in my hotel room and not out and about.  Still adjusting to the limitations of this stupid disease.

Working half days this week, every other day from home, as my GP and occupational heaslth nurse at work agreed that I need to get more rest, they feel and I agree, that 8 hours 5 days/week is too much right now.  Have been in a slump since January, didn't seem to be a full blown relapse; but many of my symptoms worsened when I expereienced some flu nlike symptoms.  Thankfully the nightsweats have stopped; had my thyroid and other stuff checked out and all appears ok.  So maybe it was a relapse but was milder than previous ones because of the Copaxone?  Whatever, I feel not well but nowhere near needing IVSM;  need to save that for the major relapses.

Still trying out Sativex, haven't gotten much effect yet but still on low dose to be increased very gradually.  So far the worst part is the taste and I don't know how I will ever get used to it, it tastes terrible!  Hopefully the benefit will outweigh the down side.

Oh, a couple of crazy cognitive 'lapses' in the past week: first, I went to the symphony on the WRONG night!  My tickets were for Sat and I went on Fri!  Fortunately they were really good about it and gave me seats close to the original ones.  I had it in my head since my husband gave me the tickets for Christmas that it was a Sat night.  Obviously I didn't look at them closely enough,  Then yesterday, at work, I emailed a long list of stuff for my assistant to do for me but instead of sending the email to her, I sent it to a manager in a different part of the company with the same first name!  The manager emailed me back asking if she could follow up on the email next week when she has more time to look at it, that's when I realized it went to the wrong person.  SO embarrassing and sloppy.  I responded right away to tell her of my mistake, feeling like a total a$$.  I never used to make mistakes like these.  I need to be more careful, especially at work.

Back from San Francisco and Atlanta.  I don't recommend three days of IVSM followed by 9 days of travel.  Started on the Baclofen at night, and now my legs hurt like heck all day. This week has been work from the road on Monday and Tuesday.  Flew home last night.  Working from home Wed - Fri.

I'm still trying to get rid of the itchy face patches, at the moment i cant cope without antihystamine, they seem to take the edge off. The swelling has gone down heaps, hubby now says i've just got the bags lol I've just finished the yuck antibiotics and still using the cortizone cream but its getting better thankfully.

For the last few days my upper jaw bones have been killing me, it comes and goes and has for years, i'm getting cranky and can't wait for it to stop. Just to make my day, i cracked a lower tooth, and thats sending me through the roof when food stuff goes within coo-ee of it. Unfortunately its going to have to wait, i've got the tremors so i'm like one of those head nodding dolls that sit on the back shelf of peoples cars lol can't keep still.

so what am i doing this week, just hanging in there!

Cheers.......JJ

PS i'd love love love a dog.

So many puppies around - Rita (cosmobirdy) has one, too.  How on earth do you all have the energy to work with a puppy?    We have a 4 year old husky and an 8 year old shepard/rott/mix and they both still take attention but nothing like a puppy.

I'm awake way too early because of my cold - first one I've had in years and boy does my throat hurt.

O- can you take an incomplete and finish the coursework at a later date?  Be sure to discuss this option with your program director BEFORE you drop a class or take a failing grade.  With medical reasons you can often ask to have those course attempts taken off your record.... at least ask for that.

I am getting over a cold right now. I had another MRI (cervical and thoracic spine this time) last Thursday and I have another neuro appointment tomorrow. I'm a little nervous about it.

I am sort of frustrated about work because I am having a hard time keeping up right now. I took an incomplete in my two grad classes but I may have to take the failing grade because I can't complete them. That kind of *****. But what can you do.

Like Alex, I also have a puppy. Luna is about 4 months old and she is naughty! She's lucky that she's cute!

Alex and  Tick - Once again I don't feel physically bad with this UTI just have the  urgency - that is the scary part that I don't feel that I have an infection going on.

Johnnie - that is great to get the diabetes under control by working on the weight. I hope the checkup shows you how much it helps. Maybe the foot surgeon will have a magic wand to wave for the achilles.... sorry you are getting no relief from the injections.

I go to my PCP,  three months check up on Pre-diabetes testing.  I've stuck to the diet and have lost 18lbs since Nov 2010.

Friday an appointment with the foot surgeon,  bone spur is going thru the achilles and slight tear,  two PRP injections have failed.

MS seems stable & no issues right now.

MRI today and yesterday had my yearly asthma check when the nurse, yet again, gets up tight, about my blood pressure, it is slightly high but GP's not bothered.

The rest of the week is quite quiet.

Had some wonderful news from my daughter which I will tell you all when we have more details.
