solumedrol and blood sugar

How long does it take for blood sugars to go back to normal after getting off solumedrol? This is 4th day without dose and sugars still elevated - still jittery inside, palpitations, irritable, and hungry. I will not take this stuff again. Still have on pain - didn't even work. I've worked too hard to get weight down and blood sugars to mess it up for 3 days of steroids. Grrrr

Are you still on the Oral Taper?  If so, they may remain out of whack until you are off the taper.  Mineral corticosteroids are cleared pretty quickly and the purpose of the  taper is to give your adrenal glands a chance to stabilize.  I know that is not much of an answer, but it is typically a couple of days after the taper ends.  If you didn't have a taper and just ended  IVSM, then it can take some time for the adrenal glands to kick back in.

Never been on steroids. Sounds frustrating.
