Hi there,
I had the numb tongue that lasted for about a month, I had some facial numbness on and off with this and pain and then I had some twitching as well but the roof of my mouth twitched...
I still haven't established if mine is MS/TM related or migraine related... I do get migraines without the headache.
Are you seeing a Dr? I would get your symptoms evaluated... could be many causes.
Best wishes,
Udkas.
My twitching lasted about a year... and hasn't gone away, it's just gotten better.
I have gotten crazy twitches that have lasted a couple of months. I've been lucky the last couple weeks as they have subsided. My right eye was at an almost constant twitch for about 7 weeks (?) and my left was twitching for part of that time too. I've also had it in my lip. I also get burning, stabbing and numbness in my face and head.
I get so embarrassed and I just hope that no one sees them. No one has ever mentioned it, but every once in a while I see somone look at my eye with that puppy dog "huh?" look. I just ignore them. I'm sure the "water cooler" has heard about the twitching, but no one says anything to me.
Hi steveo1010,
I dont get a numb tongue but i do get face twitching and other numb spots on my face, with this episode i started out with the area surounding my left eye twitching occationally, the cheek tightening until its a rock then it goes numb and the tip of my nose goes tingly and numb like my thumb and fingers do, weird.
Since i started with the flu a few weeks back, they started on the right side as well, why i cant say but now the area surrounding my right eye is twitching and going numb, with both cheeks tightening to rocks, do a weird smile until your cheeks are puffed up, now hold them there and you'll get the feeling, although i'm not doing anything remotely like smiling it just happens.
I also have hot spots on my head, again it was only on the left but since the flu its also on the right, it burns like my heads on fire and then it gets numb like my face. This year is worse than any other, i dont let it bother me too much during the day but its a lot harder to ignore and fall asleep when your face is a rock and your nose is tingling and your head feels like its aflame, fun hey!
I think the twitching falls under the heading of spasticity and spasms, where as the numbness and burning falls under the heading of parethsia (sorry cant spell anymore) but i havent yet come across anyone else talking about what i experience in totality.
Hope it helped a little.
Cheers....JJ
