Forgot How to Do Simple Things

Just wondering if these types of things happen to any of you.

I was just coming out of a really bad week, left side of the body not responding well, lots of pain in the leg and foot and hard time walking. Irritable and fussy and still had the business, kids, and overtime to deal with. So I take a night off and go visit some girlfriends. Still a little pain, but getting better. When we leave I am standing by the car saying good night to a friend. I get in the car, am holding the keys, and suddenly... I forgot how to drive. I was pushing knobs, and levers and pedals, but not in the right order and I just had to stop and get a hold of myself. After a sec I was fine, but really, what if I had BEEN driving. And what if my kids were in the car??

I am still waiting to start over with all my testing. Primary cares are so hard to get into to see. I'm hoping we have a specialist in the area that will take me seriously. Why are they so resistant? Does anyone know a good specialist in Southern California. I am getting to the point that I will go around the insurance and just pay for the darn tests. Yeah right...

This has been a new frustration of mine.  I literally thought I was losing my mind yesterday.  Only a couple of seconds would pass and I couldn't remember if someone had just said something or if I just forgot the answer.  It was being in a weird time loop.

So,, no. Not alone!

I thought it was just 'cause I'm gettin' old!

It does help, though to breathe and think before turning the key.  Mindfulness...I'm gonna check out the post Lulu just left you.

the more you feel the pressure to perform, the harder it is.  Alex and Ren give you the perfect advice.  It sounds easier than it really is... relaxing is a skill and it takes practice..

there is a youtube video that has a neuro from the San Diego area on it that I am very impressed with.... yes, she could maybe use a makeover but her content is excellent.  And I like her approach.   Dr. Jody Corey-Bloom I think is her name. UCSD School of Medicine and she is the director of their MS clinic.  you can check her out at

I also have similar problems where I have to sit and think things thorough. Alex's  forward or reverse decision in a parking place is a common one too.It is unnerving when it happens.

Best advice I have is the same as Alex's...stop and take a big breath, relax and then the information you need from your brain is there.

I have to think about whether I want to go forward or reverse when leaving a parking space. Sometimes I often forget to rinse my hair when I shampoo it. I have cooked dinner then been unable to find it, only to realize I threw it in the trash.

The list can go on. Mostly I just have to slow down and do a check list in my head. LOL.
