I use it for Trigeminal Neuralgia.
I currently take 600 mg 3x a day.
It has helped with SOME of the nerve pain in my lower back too.
Gabapentin, otherwise known as Neurontin is actually a drug used to treat seizures, and somewhere along the way was discovered to be effective in relieving nerve pain assiciated with multiple sclerosis. I find it also helps me with the muscle spasms and "charlies" that I get in my legs.
I hope this helps.
Beth.
Thanks for the info. Do you know how it compares with Lyrica?
You are welcome.
I do not know how the two medications compare, as I have not had any experience with Lyrica. My background with Gabapentin has been mostly positive. The only negative with it was during the initial phase of dose adjustment. I qould have no problem recommending it to anyone.
Are you having any kind of pain, spasms, etc?
