Hi Netti,

Did you get hurt? How are you feeling now?

Welcome to the MS forum.  Not sure why this has happened to you, but you'll learn a lot here about MS.  Have you visited our health pages? They are located toward the right corner of the forum. There you will find what it takes to get a diagnosis of MS.  It's a lengthy process and difficult diagnosis to make.

Hope you are feeling ok.

Be well,
Shelly

Hi,

This is I'm afraid just too hard to answer, it could be so many things.

Might help to know roughly how old you are.  If you are on the 'mature' side often this sort of thing happens because of instability in the hip or knee, maybe from a 'hairline' fracture from osteoporosis - thinning of the bones.  Post menopausal women are more at risk.

It could have been a neurological event, were there any strange sensations.  If you generally felt odd it could even have been an epileptic epiisode.

There could be something going on with the leg muscles, making them weak.

It may have been a loss of blood supply for some reson.

So many possible causes.  The best next step is to go to your primary physician and explain what happened.  Hopefully they'll send you for some initial invesitigations..

Or it even could have been a one off.  Eg if you hadn't eaten that day and got momentarily dizzy.

Things you need to think about, apart from your age (and from your name am assuming you are female!) are what happened that day and before the fall, any changes in senstion or temperature or size of your legs etc.  How has the leg been since....etc.

If it happens again get straight back to the doctor.  I would hope at the very least they would do a hip x-ray and some blood tests.

Let us know how you get on and maybe post again with some more information about yourself?
