I'm reading a similar book and some of it makes sense to me. If, for example, I'm allergic to gluten and every time I eat wheat I have small allergic reaction which causes inflammation in my body, I think it makes sense that my MS symptoms could get worse. Although, for me at this point, it's all hypothetical as I have not changed my diet nor had any allergy tests.
Hummmm, 8-10 yrs between relapes here w no special diet either.
I do however think that diet can play a role in helping with sx for SOME people. Going back to the multiple factors (genetic and environmental) that I think go into any one person developing MS, some people may see more of an effect w their sx eating a particular way.
Idk how large or how small that number of people MAY be but healthy eating can do everyone good by keeping their cholesterol and weight down, in addition to just getting all the nutrients your body needs.
I whole heartedly endorse people doing what works for them, especially those who's options may be limited.

I'm suspicious :-) How long has he been relapse free? It was 18 years between my first and second relapses, and it had nothing to do with my healthy diet :-)
@ mike I have to disagree, tofu CAN taste great... I love tofu :) I think I'll have to get some this weekend now!! :P
I can't comment on this particular book, but, while I believe a healthy diet is good for anyone, people both with and without MS, I don't believe that eating properly can eliminate the symptoms of MS.
It may be a good book, I don't know, just don't expect miracles regarding MS symptoms.
Who knows....maybe there's a recipe that makes tofu taste good...:)
