Is mild aching in muscles common??

I started out getting a mild aching in the left Quad  just above the knee 8 months ago which now has mild spasticity / spasms where the muscle often won't relax but stays contracted at rest.  Now the last few weeks I have been getting mild aching in the right Quad (just above knee) with spasm, so I thought...ok same as the other leg.

Trouble is I now have aching right tricep for 2 weeks. Does this mean spasms to come??? or is this not a common MS symptom?? Did anyone else get aching in the muscle before spasticity started??

I think if it worries you, then go get it checked out, we have enough worries.

Let us know how it goes eh?

(((hugs)))

The ache is sometimes ok but when I move around I can feel it and it is achy when I push on it.

Last night I woke up with spasms around the ribs (hug) but it was higher up than usual , right up to above the breast area and shoulder and my arm was really sore as well. It was painful to straighten it or reach across or rotate the arm.  Actually I couldn't straighten it completely but this morning I can and it is back to just achy.

This aching has travelled down my arm . It started by the underarm and is now past my elbow.
Should I go to the DR??  I don't think she knows much about spasms etc caused by neurological issues but I really need some answers as it is scary in the middle of the night not knowing what is happening. And maybe it is caused by something else??

like Ess I don't get much spasticity but I do get a lot of muscle problems, my physio and MS Nurse said that having a lot of muscle problems was not unusual in MS due to the general weakness which means that muscles tire very quickly.

I was told by the neuro  physio that often MS means weakens in the lower half of the body as you get older and that I should expect to do 4 repetitions of an exercise when a 'normal' person could do 10.

So I am afraid I can't answer your question. Although I did once have spasticity in part of my back which I assume was a partial hug and that often now aches too.

Just occurred to me - when I had my LP he touched a nerve and my whole left leg ached - wonder if that's relevant???

I was about to post a similar question when I saw yours - I've got spasticity off and on (mostly on) in both legs but mostly the left and have started getting the random achyness mostly in the left leg - started about 4 days ago

at the moment it's aching down the thigh and my shin and it's quite uncomfortable - I was blaming the wet weather

maybe someone esle can shed more light on this

I don't have spasticity, so I'm probably not a good one to answer this. But I get a lot of aching that I think comes from just plain weakness. My hip flexors are not in good shape, so they may be expecting my thigh muscles to do too much. I get muscle aches very easily, way out of proportion to activity, in the backs of my thighs. Like yours, mine are at the mild level only.
